Nevermind.. I shall not talk bad about apple again, or my comment will be cut in half again..

So are they changing the charger again to make all those current chargers obsolete for the new one and make their users buy new ones? Wow.

Don't forget all those car MP3 attatchment cables that are hard wired in.

Here's a perfect example of poor journalism and why it fails mainstream society.
Instead of focusing on what the rest of the world is moving to, Tech blog sites continue to celebrate Apple's incremental updates. I will high five any journalist that has the backbone to refuse placing Apple articles publicly until Apple stops humiliating their consumers with incremental upgrades.
One thing is for sure. We certainly can't argue with Apple fans. They are right about one thing. The next iPhone will definitely be better than the one before it. News to change the world.
37. McLTE (Posts: 745; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
How are these incremental updates humiliating Apple consumers?
The thing that most people are ignoring here is that it really doesn't matter what Apple does with the next iPhone.. it will SELL.
They could go to a smaller screen, switch to a single core processor and get half the signal as the previous model and people will FLOCK to the stores to buy it.
The bottom line is that what Apple is doing just plain works! They don't need to leap-frog everyone with massive technology updates. The typical i-user doesn't care... The just want their iPhone, just like all their other friends have!
Apple marketing is pure genius. They have people so bought into their products, that it really matters not how far behind it is when compared to the GS3 or whatever.
It does go beyond marketing though. While I pretty much despise Apple, I can't argue with the fact that the iPhone is a great phone. It's for the most part smooth and pretty and it does what it's supposed to do for the vast majority of users. It's not for me, but I respect those who choose to use it.
This new iPhone is pretty revolutionary in the iPhone world, especially considering the 4 to 4s upgrade.
What I am curious to see is how the consumers deal with the change in connector. How many bazillion gadgets are rendered useless because you can no longer dock the new phone???

Mom's Friendly Robot Company and the eyePhone come's to mind... LOL
48. gallitoking (Posts: 4704; Member since: 17 May 2011)
see marketing can take you so far.. user experience is what keeps you buying iphones.. the smooth experience that comes out of the box... and beautiful designs.. that what gets me to keep buying Apple products...
66. Slammer (Posts: 1395; Member since: 03 Jun 2010)
Your comment is a quintessential envelope of oxymoron.
First you ask how these are incremental upgrades, then you say it doesn't matter what they do. People will still purchase their products even if it is smaller screens, they don't need to leapfrog etc.
This almost negates your point and doesn't really agree or disagree.
First, We both agree that Apple could box a turd and people will buy into them just like our generation did with the Pet Rock. This certainly doesn't define advances in technology and doesn't really oppose my point.
Secondly, While Apple fans jump for joy and bust champagne bottles for Apple's new offerings, in reality, adding programs and technology that everyone else has been using, just further constitutes incremental upgrades within the tech industry as a whole. While the Apple fans may feel different, I feel it insults these consumers.
I loved Apple. I lived Apple and I supported Apple. Their brilliant marketing ironically led to my defection. You can only be victimized by carrot dangling so much before one realizes that something's not right here. When I take a look at record profits of any company month after month, year after year to the point it places them as the only Non-oil company in profit earnings, that raises another red flag. Are you really getting more for your money? Or is the company making more and offering less because they can?
I can't celebrate article warfares that continually place Apple in this kind of news. Apple's current news, is usually yesterday's news.
And as for your last paragraph, has it ever occurred to Apple consumers why Apple needs to remain proprietary from the rest of the world? Do people realize this is what put Apple on the brink of bankruptsy? Your question is valid. The rest of the world is going standard connectors for devices and Apple doesn't. Why? Because it is another way for them to force their supporters to pay far more on a proprietary accessory. What do these people get in return? More waiting for something else we all have had.
51. gallitoking (Posts: 4704; Member since: 17 May 2011)
when you say the rest of the world.. .are you including the millions of people that still use a feature phone?.. most of them are happy using a feature phone ..if they are not bothered to get high tech devices.. why are Apple consumers?...
32. The_Innovator (Posts: 3; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
This is pretty disappointing indeed, but let me all remind you of something. When the iPhone 4S was released, the processors were clocked at 800Mhz, while some other phones had 1.2 Ghz processors, yet the iPhone 4S managed to beat them in the benchmark test. Not to mention all the other phones had 1GB of ram, and still the iPhone beat their scores with a 512MB one.
So this will basically double the speed that the iPhone 4S already has, which is already very fast, if not the fastest. Also, you never know, we might see the same processor as in the New iPad with Quad-Core graphics.
43. wsucoug13 (Posts: 164; Member since: 04 May 2012)
"if not the fastest" like to see a 4S keep up with my SGSIII when connected to 4G LTE. However I do think the iPhone 5 will have the new iPads processor and chip set, with the 4G LTE connectivity theres no doubt it will be incredibly fast.
95. The_Innovator (Posts: 3; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
Well no I wasn't referring to the data speed of course, just the processing power. Let's be a bit fair, the SGSIII is a brand new phone. And yes I agree it would quiet fast.
107. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
On a 4G LTE network, an ANDROID phone smokes an iphone....
137. The_Innovation (Posts: 585; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
In what sense? I'm talking about graphics benchmark tests. It doesn't smoke anything.
33. The_Innovator (Posts: 3; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
Oh and if a 12+MP camera comes along too, sales will be sky high as always.
52. gallitoking (Posts: 4704; Member since: 17 May 2011)
is not a party until Apple arrives.. just like rockstars
159. gallitoking (Posts: 4704; Member since: 17 May 2011)
I was just listening to that song this morning.. actually the video.. Nickelback..
217. E.N. (Posts: 2529; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
I'd have to agree with you on that. for example, NFC hasn't taken off and its been on Android for the longest time. Watch what happens when iPhone gets it.
218. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Yup Apple will make it mainstream
253. Chakra (Posts: 127; Member since: 02 Dec 2009)
you are probably right. Then Apple will sue anyone else you uses NFC.
57. sudbury78 (Posts: 129; Member since: 12 Jul 2012)
I am really trying to figure out WHY these apple based posts are ALL apple haters posting. I am almost amused by this. I know as an apple lover, I dont go into non apple based articles and start saying this and that about other companies. APPLE JUST PROVES THEY ARE KING OF EVERYTHING.
72. skymitch89 (Posts: 1184; Member since: 05 Nov 2010)
I thought that the iPhone 4/4s already had 1GB of RAM?
97. The_Innovation (Posts: 585; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
No actually it's a 512MB, yet it performed faster than all the other competitors with 1GB.
113. taz89 (Posts: 2014; Member since: 03 May 2011)
its faster but its also doing less..not saying which is better its upto the individual if you prefer functionality over speed or vice versa
138. The_Innovation (Posts: 585; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
Yea it all really comes down to what you prefer. Simplicity vs complexity.
148. EclipseGSX (Posts: 1702; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
In other words dumb vs smart. iPhone being for dummies
98. Whateverman (Posts: 3236; Member since: 17 May 2009)
Fanboyism aside, I want Apple to stop playing it safe. Their products are great, there is no disputing that. But I hope to see more then just a stretched out iPhone 4 or 4S. A whole new design, with multiple size screens would make its a much more appealing option for people who may be willing to try something different.
Some will say why change what sells, but I'm not saying change anything. I would just like to see 4', 4.3', 5', and 5.3' options in addition to the 3.5' screen.
116. wsucoug13 (Posts: 164; Member since: 04 May 2012)
I agree 100%, iPhones are great phones no doubt. It's just so much more exciting to have Android fans because there is something new coming out every month or say. You get an iPhone and then what.... wait for a year for a new device. Android has the SGSIII that just came out, the Note II, the next Nexus, and much more to look forward to just this year.
142. The_Innovation (Posts: 585; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
Yea but who would spend so much money every three months to purchase a new device?
204. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Well yes, but there's multiple companies making android phones. LG, Samsung, Motorola, Pantech, etc.
Apple is only one company so they can't make a new phone every couple of months. It wouldn't make sense.
105. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
So, will the iphone's boot screen read the following?:
"Samsung did not copy APPLE"
108. networkdood (Posts: 6329; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Seeing how my wife has problems with her 4S, I am so glad that I did not buy an iphone in 2007/08 - I was going to - but now, looking back - I would have been bored it with it.
205. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
All my co workers are switching to iPhones. They tell me they're sick of android phones because they're laggy and freeze up.
227. Schuler2828 (Posts: 58; Member since: 04 Jul 2012)
Your mirror got tired of looking at your face cause you worship Apple so it just decided to break.

your friends are just as stupid as you are.
125. HouTexan (Posts: 363; Member since: 08 Jan 2012)
No lie, I was one of the many iphone users that thought that the iPhone was superior and nothing could touch it. I was just going off of what society and apple were throwing into the consumer's heads. Then, I did my own research and educated myself and phonearena.com was the catalyst of my research and my switch over to Android. There is no way I will ever look back, especially with Apple's bogus practices and lack of innovation.
219. E.N. (Posts: 2529; Member since: 25 Jan 2009)
don't feel special, cause there are many people who are in opposite situation. They've only used Android devices and are switching to iPhone. One of the editors for example in PhoneDog was soo pro-Android, but then he switched to the iPhone 4S. Even though there were many things that annoyed him, he still really enjoyed the phone a lot [he was later attacked in the comments section by pathetic Android users]
Good for you for finding what you want, but there others that do the opposite. And honestly, depending on what iPhone 4G/5/6 brings, you can expect a crapload of Android users jumping ship. But that all depends on what Apple decided to do.
139. The_Innovation (Posts: 585; Member since: 18 Jul 2012)
I think it's clear that Apple has it's followers. It might seem a bit closed minded but I don't think so. I think they just simply love it for what it is (especially women) and don't really get down to the details of it. It's not as complex as an Android device, but it does enough to keep customers happy. So even the slightest updates satisfy their customers. After all it already is very popular. They don't really have anything to prove. I guess they're not as pressured to compete. I'm willing to bet that Apple very well could make a 2GB ram with a Quad-Core processor and provide a 12MP camera, but why? If it can take 4 years doing it? It's clever marketing.
149. EclipseGSX (Posts: 1702; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Mmm yes ripping off the consumer and these iFans still stay loyal to the fruit.

4 inches.. NFC.. double the ram??
Wow.. it sounds more and more like an Android phone every day. iOS-Nexus5, iNex? AppleCreamSandwich?

..... you cant be serious.
188. Non_Sequitur (Posts: 1111; Member since: 16 Mar 2012)
Nah, he's pretty serious. But really. Android has had this stuff.
A looong time.
160. good2great (Posts: 1042; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
i dont think its anything apple can do to please you guys in here...lol
if they add widgets = copy android
if they beef up the RAM 2GB = copy android
if they make a 4.8in screen = copy android
if they make siri respond faster = copy android
if they add microSD = copy android
if they stop all patent lawsuits it still wouldnt be enough to get a decent discussion on this website...lol
i think the phone looks amazing... the software is well polished... and its popular...
to me those are the most important points to selling a phone...
SGS3 didnt break records because of its spec sheet...
it looks good... the software has been improved to not lag... and they marketed it well that it gained popularity
165. thedarkside (Posts: 652; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
the iphone wont have 2GB of ram for 4 more years.
208. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
Exactly there's NOTHING Apple could do to make the users on here happy.

200+ comments about the new iPhone. Looks like some sales records will fall...Yup
220. mas11 (Posts: 1033; Member since: 30 Mar 2012)

228. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
yea most of them ARE jealous android users
