New iPhone 8 dummy unit video reportedly provides the "closest look" at Apple's first 5.8-inch
Last week, we talked about a couple of photos showing an iPhone 8 dummy unit that might look like the real iPhone 8 that Apple is getting ready to announce sometime later this year. Today, the same iPhone 8 dummy unit showed up in a hands-on video that lets us better envision what Apple's next big thing could be all about.

Revealed by @OnLeaks (one of the web's most reliable sources when it comes to leaks and unofficial information) in collaboration with Tiger Mobiles, this iPhone 8 dummy reportedly provides "the closest look yet" at Apple's upcoming handset.

As you can see for yourself in the video embedded below, there's nothing surprising about this iPhone 8 dummy unit - everything about it is based on previous rumors. Compared to any other iPhone model released until now, the alleged iPhone 8 has very thin bezels around its display, though we obviously can't call it a bezel-less handset.

Towards the end of the video, the iPhone 8 dummy unit is accurately measured, and it turns out it's 143.5 mm tall, 71 mm wide, and 7.5 mm thin (if you don't measure the rear camera bump, of course). This means the device is larger than the iPhone 7 (138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm), but significantly smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus (158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm).

It's said that the iPhone 8 sports a 5.8-inch display, and, since it doesn't have a physical home button, its fingerprint scanner could be embedded into the screen (though Apple may also have a plan B that would see the sensor included on the phone's rear panel).

All in all, it looks like the iPhone 8 will be the herald of a new design dawn for Apple - one without the thick bezels that its smartphones have always had. We're definitely looking forward to seeing this handset being officially unveiled later this year. What about you?
