Nah, I think they'll some how manage to convince the the iFans on how you don't or should not charge while in use, how how people who do are "behind the curve" or something...

try charging it while playing a game. it will have the little "charging" icon at the top, but the battery will still be going down. it uses more juice than it can take in from the plug.

I was watching a TV app on mine the other day while charging, and it charged fine.

the TV app isnt nearly as resource hungry as a game. The Consumer reports test was done using infinity blade 2 and some benchmarks that use all the resources. you CAN use it and have it charge at the same time, this issue is that it is completely dependent on what you are doing. For people that want it for heavy media/game use, its going to be an issue. And honestly, thats a ridiculous issue to have. The engineers could have done simple math from the power draw of each component and seen that 10w is way too little. Upping it to 12-15-20 watts isnt exactly expensive either.

Another day another new apple product fault!

So what they are saying here is that if ifans want to use the ipad for alot of gaming or movies and say the battery is at half charge they cant use it on charging playing for the desired length of time, they have to use it for a bit till it goes dead, charge it up then play games again later on that day,all while not getting burnt from overheating. Resolutionary!!

Ifans should go out and buy 2 ipads immediately

How exactly was this missed in testing??? Do they even test their products or do the designers just fax over the designs to the sweat shops in China and wait to roll in the money?

If you realise, most Apple products have flaws in the most obvious areas that they missed during testing.

iPods (The older ones) = Most had an overheating issue.

Macbook Pros = The thing can cook an egg when you're trying to play a game or using some intensive programs.

iPhone 3G = No copy & paste.
iPhone 3GS = Overheating, No camera flash (that was during a times where almost all the other keyboard phones/dumbphones had an LED flash)

iPhone 4 = Death grip (dropped calls), made of glass
iPhone 4S = yellow tint screen and battery life issues

Its not just the ipods and macbooks that overheat, iphones do at random also, some exploding even! Perhaps the new ipad may also feature the overheating till exploding gene but as the ipad news breaks it seems yet another iphone has exploded for somebody today:

I can understand the rest of these points and issues however with the made of glass they continue to do so but now its in gorrilla glass but still glass all the same. So I suppose they did not find that as an issue

Exactly no heat issues,no charging issues either. The only issue I have with my "new" iPad is not being able to put it down at times. It lags, stutters, jerks, and freezes... Oops now I'm talking about my girls galaxy 8.9.

Your attempt at having a blind eye to faults of a product that you have spent your hard earned money on. The fact that you whole heartedly believe your product, or any product of a corportation is perfect and can do no wrong. The fact that you will choose to repeatedly call out people for having an opinion that they then can back up by facts.

The apple forums certainly have been lighting up with complaints of the poor charging capabilities of the 'new' ipad, some saying it takes about 1 hr to get 10% charge into the ipad!!

here is a quote from one such article:

"Yes, the biggest flaw of the new iPad is actually the charging process. Not only does it take almost one single hour for a 10 % increase in battery capacity (actually the overall charging period from 0% to 100% is close to over 8 hours) but what is worse, the battery capacity even drops when you play a game while the iPad is charging. At 100% display brightness, playing AirSupremacy, battery capacity drops by 2% or so...every 10 minutes. Ouch."

Androsheep is typing his comments from his "new" iPad. He then calls from his 64 gig iPhone 4S, then uses his 4th generation iPod touch to listen to music, then uses his Mac book pro to do his thesis, way to go androsheep, welcome to the team!!!

HaHa, this is what happens when Apple doesn't give them clear instructions on what to do, the sheep go wild.

Anyone who's using an Android would know the first thing you do if your battery is draining would be to lower the screen brightness. Next would be to check what app or process is using up resources...oh wait, iOS can't do that right? No wonder you can't troubleshoot and end up going to the Apple store to get help instead...

Every phone/tablet has its quirks. It's just that the iPads and iPhone problems and quirks are really amplified. If all the problems were that big of a deal, why is the iPad selling so good?

irrelevant. people are just finding out about the quirks because..IT JUST LAUNCHED. duh. not like these things have been going on for months. people buy it without asking questions because they are told that it's magical© give it time.. it may or may not turn into another antennagate

You should really be turning your concerns to your new ipad,if it actually does charge properly with the faulty charger then it may overheat,if it doesn't overheat then it may now not work with wifi:

Its resolutionary.

Never forget this though christianqwerty - The majority's choice is not inherently correct. There was a time people thought the Earth was flat. A time when people thought the Sun revolved around the Earth. And even a time when people thought mice could be spontaneously born from a pile of trash.
