0. phoneArena posted on 21 Jul 2011, 14:10

With specs that have been surpassed by most of today's relevant Android models, the Motorola Defy could stand to be a little updated to be hip once again; according to This Is My Next, the Defy will get a faster processor and a more current Android OS build...

Not a bad choice for someone who does not want a high-end android. You lost me at 512 mb RAM and 2GB internal storage. I wish Google would implement minimal standards that require 16GB internal and 1GB RAM with 1GHZ processor speed.
Probably as good as an iphone 3GS...possibly.

Google's open source idea seemed great at first, but it has cost them in the long run. Fragmentation, low end Android phones that seem to lag, etc. At least I can commend Microsoft's WP7 for having minimum specs that make for a smooth experience with their phones. Android isn't bad, but I think Google now understands that it has to implement some standards if they want the Android experience to be a smooth as possible.

It would be nice for there to be more durable or dust/spill resistant phones out there. Not everyone wants to buy an Otterbox.

Wipes out any hope for Defy owners to get Gb onboard :-( ... I feel with this bump up, one needs a front facing camera. GB w/o a front facing camera = one less point.
