A trio of iPhone ads, still warm and fresh from Cupertino's kitchen, have popped on Apple's website and display…

People can say what they want but apple has a heck of a marketing dept. Now I have a mind of my own and don't make decisions based off of commercials but apple definitely knows how to draw in customers.

in the first video the app loaded really fast

People always complain and say that the reason why Apple is so successful is because of their advertisement and marketing team. And what I say in response is that good advertising is important for successful businessing. Apple is not in the wrong for successful advertising, the other companies are the ones that need to step it up. They should have learned this in Strategies for a Successful Business 101. I guess the difference is that Apple employees went to class? I don't know.
I mean come on, an android robot with human thumbs? What the hell is that? The Xperia play could be a great seller but how do they expect millions of people to buy that phone from that commercial. It would have been smart to appeal to all the game players by showing more footage of actual gameplay instead of appealing to the few who actually know what the green robot is.
And why are people so surprised that Apple is saying positive things about the iPhone. Hello! it's an advertisement, that's kind of what happens.

totally agree what a stupid commercial by sony

i saw one last night... ended up saying "if you dont have an iphone... well... then u dont have an iphone"
WOW.... sounds like when i ask the sheep for reasons why the iphone is so good and they respond "bc its an iphone"

Do a side by side comparison of how the same set of features/functions work on iOS & Android.... if you can't realize the difference, then I understand why you're an Androider.
It's not what you do. It's how you do it. The people that are the most successful across all industries and occupations are super-successful because of HOW they do their job, not because what your checklist/resume says you do.

my above comment was more so meant for the comment just below by dahaka :)

Yeah talk about the ultimate douchey statement! I hate the way the guy says it too. It's like he's enjoying the smell of his own fart while looking down his nose and closing his eyes. It should be..."Yup, if you don't have an iphone...you don't have to be a snob with poor judgement."
4. dahaka (unregistered)
wow so u mean that i cant do all that stuff if i dont have an iphone,,, weird cause i do all that stuff maybe my evo has mind control since i dont have an app store with access to thousands of apps... oh wait i do
5. TheCatch (unregistered)
"If you don't have iPhone...." blah blah blah
Wierd, Hitler popped into my mind after hearing these commercial.
Oh well I guess I don't have an iPhone...

"If you have an iPhone but you don't have its Bumper Case with you... well... you don't have an iPhone"
29. downphoenix (Posts: 2134; Member since: 19 Jun 2010)
so true due to the antenna issues, as well as the fact that I cant think of one Iphone I've seen that didnt have some kind of case on it. Iphone owners love their cases, guess it speaks about the quality of the phone :)

when companies start makin this kind of 'etarded commercials u know somethings is missing from the product, or something is wrong with the company...
58. AndroidTroll (Posts: 359; Member since: 05 Mar 2011)
I totally agree. They aren't going to win back any of their now Android users with this commercial. Enjoy watching your market share continue to dwindle crapple!!
9. Whateverman (Posts: 3157; Member since: 17 May 2009)
And that elitist attitude is why so many people don't want and iPhone. I have my playlist, I have my books, and I have more apps then I could possibly ever use. And best of all...I don't have an iPhone.

And the jealousy from fandroids continue :)
20. tsamo (Posts: 3; Member since: 24 Jan 2011)
Are you serious ?!? Jealousy of what ? We don't have stocks in apple or google (well i don't) to gain anything from criticizing the iphone 4 ads . It is though a fact , that in these ads is implied that only iphone has these functions (ipmlies being the key word) . It's like google constructing an ad for nexus s and goes like this , ''Nexus s is the phone you want , beacause if you don't have an android phone then you don't have the market store , if you don't have an android phone then you don't have google books . Well duh , these are copyrighted so of course you won't have them on android(ipod, ibooks, appstore) as on iphone you don't have google books, market store, etc.
23. 530gemini (Posts: 2198; Member since: 09 Sep 2010)
Then how would you explain all the android fanboys swarming in here if that's not jealousy? Iphone rules and there's nothing you fandroids can do about it. And no amount of thumbs down will help you guys either :)
24. 530gemini (Posts: 2198; Member since: 09 Sep 2010)
We have google maps :) And google's YouTube :) And more :)
30. Whateverman (Posts: 3157; Member since: 17 May 2009)
@530gemini - What you have is a feature phone with an App Store. Its a great feature phone, but a feature phone no less. There is no denying the appeal of the ip4, the smartphone for dummies. But I am no dummy, thus I feel no need to use this phone. Not to say that all iphone users are, but thats what keeps getting thrown up during every Android v iPhone debate. (My grandma can use it!)
Me, I like individuality. And although many people have Android devices, I can honestly say that no one has mine. You can put my Droid X right alongside ten others and at first glance, I can tell you exactly which one is mine. Its called customization and it comes free with every Android.
And everything you have on your iphone is most likely paid for. Now, Apple even has to put a lock on your phones to stop your children from buying too many apps and songs w/o you knowing. While most of our apps are free! How much did you have to pay for Angry Birds? Nothing wrong with paying for apps, i bough a few myself. But I have choices that you will never have. Even if i don't buy anymore apps or don't touch the games on the Market, I can still play games online because my device has flash. SJ will never give it to you guys because he is afraid you wont buy anymore apps. There is nothing to be jealous of. But every time some ad or exec or SJ himself says something stupid about what I don't have on my phone, best believe I'm gonna call them on their crap.
31. Oreally?? (unregistered)
Oh well we actually have 4G and LTE capable phones, we can actually websites the way their meant to be seen (im sorry does your iphone still not show flash? OH WAIT THATS RIGHT it doesnt my bad), we have several different manufacturers and carriers (hence we don't have the same stupid phone that everyone else has. "Oh you have an iphone? Me too! Great, now what?"), we have bigger screens, our OS is open source (oh and yeah your right your phone does have Google stuff on it but thats because your Apple is too stupid to come up with great stuff of its own), we have different form factors for those who like having physical keyboards to those who want all touchscreen, and we don't have antenna problems. So, what does the iphone 4 have again? Pretty much just good marketing.
54. Fanboys Suck (Posts: 609; Member since: 12 Dec 2008)
What's all this "we" stuff? You in some sort of fanboy group or something? Or did you create Android? I'm not following you here... LMFAO!!!

Don't like to get into this thinks but Google has plenty of stock features they could brag about
-Google maps with free turn by turn navigation and an nice 3D interface...
-Google voice search system from stock allows you say any world and type any place (mostly US)and you can either get directions, or even call a number without you having it as a contact
-Gmail just as good as your browser experience with Gmail
-Surf The web ''At its fullest'' with adobe flash
-type any word with no hands with voice transcription
-Make your device look... just the way you are with more advanced customization
-don't know what it it? where it is? or where to get it? find out with Google Googles
-Speak Chinese? now you do with Google translate
yep plenty to brag about

You want to know my thoughts? Two words -- Phonearena Sucks!
13. Eingild (unregistered)
Seriously dude? Give one iPhone feature that can't be found on Android. I mean, I'm using iPhone 4 as my main phone but I don't treat it as the best phone like most fanboys would. Reading comments like yours are sure to be cumbersome and I can't believe I've wasted 2 mins typing a response to your useless comment.

Does your android phone have hdr? Does it have a retina display? Does it have the number of apps available on the app store? Does it have direct access to the world's #1 music store itunes? No It doesn't :)
39. remixfa (Posts: 13901; Member since: 19 Dec 2008)
HDR is an after effect, it is not special hardware. is it on android? no. could it be? yea, in the speed of a download.
retina display? yes. LG makes the retina display, not apple. They call it the NOVA DISPLAY on android because it is the retina display + better blacks and color representation. Sorry, but Super Amoled is better regardless.
350k apps vs 250k apps. At that point its a number. They have virtually the same apps and the rest are copies of eachother. by this time next year at current rate, android will have over taken the app market anyways. its a losing arguement.
worlds #1 music store? itunes?? yes. we call that DL it to the computer and use Double twist to file convert. lol. but it has access to something even better anyways.. FREE MUSIC. it has access to every gnutilla based download service. So we dont have to pay for every song like u do. :)
I hear a lot about iphone talk n web.. well, i can talk n web on my vibrant.. but i got something for ya. Can you play angry birds while flipping to your email, copy n paste something from an email to a text, send it along with a picture to someone... while being on a call.. and then flip back to that exact spot in angry birds?
yea no.. we call that multi tasking.

Amoled, Nova, full flash support, the ability to send video to peeps, the total lack of smug stupidity of "i have an iphone, so now im cool"..
ect ect ect ect.

lol Don't even try saying that the iphone4 is better than the thunderbolt! the thunderbolt can do everything the iphone can do and more! plus, for a 32GB iphone it's 299$...and for the thunderbolt its 249$ for 40GB..

Some of what they say in the advertisment is dead wrong though, specifically about the App Store, which is, despite all their claims to the contrary, a generalized term now
17. bossmt_2 (Posts: 409; Member since: 13 Oct 2009)
The commercials are intelligently designed. Even when they're telling falsehoods (I have my books and my music on an Android) they're not toally wrong, cause I don't have iTunes or iBooks. Will be interesting to see ads that combat it. IMO the iBooks ad isn't close to as effective as the Kindle ad about the woman switchign from the iPhone, to Blackberry, to Android.
OT. How does Apple get off selling music for 1.29 a song? I know they have sales and yada yada yada. But why do people pay 30 cents more than they would for the same music on amazon?
36. downphoenix (Posts: 2134; Member since: 19 Jun 2010)
supposedly its because the record companies demanded the new 69/99/129 cents prices. Apple complied because they get 30% take, so on a 1.29 song their take is better than a .99 song
21. ZayZay (Posts: 547; Member since: 26 Feb 2011)
Commercials like these are why I hate advertising. Lies! Especially Verizon commercials. What is this fantasy land? No it's America and if they didn't lie to you they wouldn't sell anything.
26. 530gemini (Posts: 2198; Member since: 09 Sep 2010)
Is that why you wouldn't buy a PC or any android device? They're American. You know that right?
32. LionStone (Posts: 410; Member since: 10 Dec 2010)
Hmm, how 'bout if you have an ip, you definitely don't have 4g!
35. Tre-Nitty (Posts: 458; Member since: 16 Nov 2010)
Judging by the speed test run on the thunderchoke, neither do you, if you have 1 which you more than likely don't.
45. LionStone (Posts: 410; Member since: 10 Dec 2010)
Yes I do buddy...picked it up this morning...and I didn't have to wait around the block or camp out all night to get it! Lovin' it!
33. taco50 (banned) (Posts: 5506; Member since: 08 Oct 2009)
How dare Apple advertise their products and put a positive spin. They're liars!!! They should be investigated! They should just run ads that says Apple sucks and buy android.
51. Sniggly (Posts: 6404; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Or maybe they should just run ads that aren't misleading, pretentious, and arrogant.
There is absolutely nothing they named in any of their commercials that doesn't have its equivalent on an Android device.
App store? I find more than enough useful and/or fun apps in Android Market, and only a couple of them haven't worked.
iBooks? I have my choice of Kindle, Amazon Books, Aldiko, etc.
iPod? The Music app on my phone does the same basic job, with playlists and everything. And I have Amazon MP3. But the best part is that, as fast as I can rip CDs onto my computer and copy/paste them directly into my Music folder, or sync with Windows Media Player, or even copy/paste music I ripped from Youtube or from torrents, it's on my Android phone. No DRM or iTunes bullshiznit.
So the whole "if you don't have an iPhone...then, well, you don't have an iPhone" argument becomes a circular way to say "Hell YES, we're douchey and pretentious!!!"
So while they didn't quite lie, Apple IS relying on brand recognition and lack of consumer research for these ads to be effective.

Funny thing is that 24 family members converted from iPhone to android just this year I'm one of my family member Ho did return the iphone4 and get the Evo I bet you many more people now have left iPhone for android when they played with on android phone in just 8 month 24 iPhones between 11 iphone 3gs and 13 iPhone 4 in my family gone bye bye for android 4 have Motorola x 12 Evo and 8 galaxy epic must be something special about android that made us all 24 in my family from loving our iphone to converting to android why I don't see android owner changing to iphone around me I only see people going from iPhone and blackberry to android even my employees moved from blackberry to android I give them the choice and they picked the epic.

The commercial is not bad, it does whats intended to show key features
43. CRICKETownz (Posts: 980; Member since: 24 Oct 2009)
Second day with my iP4 and I gotta say I like some of te refinements over Android...for example consistent push notifications from my FB & hotmail.com email. With my Fascinate/Droid X only my Gmail was a seamless sync. The app selection seems to be a little except for the fact that most of them cost but I'm not that big into apps anyway. Streaming my instant que thru the Netflix app is beautiful. The only thing that sucks about this phone is the lack of Google Maps functionality like Android has. Sorry Apple...Android has you 10x beat in this area. Other that I'm not not looking back...I'll look ahead to WP7 as not next option. What I like about iOS is that it takes the features that I loved with Blackberry (email sync, push notification consistency) & combines it with a similar functionality that I got with Android (apps, good web browser, simplicity). Overly customizing my phone is not something im that big into. It's like I get the best of both worlds. If this makes me a "sheep" then...baaaaaah.
Luckily I'm not plagued with the dropped call issue with the Verizon version...which brings me to the case comment made earlier. I've always had a protective case on my smartphones. Why would I want to have a smartphone that looks like it's been kicked down the road a few times? I thought most people used cases but I guess everyone is different.
44. CRICKETownz (Posts: 980; Member since: 24 Oct 2009)
Oops...a couple typos...but you get the gist of what I am saying.
52. Sniggly (Posts: 6404; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Why in the hell did you buy an iPhone 4? If you're going to go iPhone (which, hey, you're free to do as long as you don't say that everything else is a shit sandwich) you should've waited 3 months for the next one to come out. Then you wouldn't facepalm so quickly.
60. CRICKETownz (Posts: 980; Member since: 24 Oct 2009)
Lol wow...from your comment I can tell you are one of those who has a strong hatred for those who carry iPhones & don't like anything. Ive carried the the old Palm, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Android, & currently carry WebOS in addition to my iPhone. So if I'm going to say iPhone is a better phone I'm certainly qualified to do so. But you can put the fangs away...no need to foam at the mouth. iOS is just another option. I usually go down the " my phone is the shit & yours sucks" road.
As far as why I bought the iP4? Why wait? iP5 is going to be a minor refresh with no 4G compatibility and no significant change except maybe a bigger screen and/or a dual core processor. So essentially I'd be waiting til the summer to get an iP4 with a dual core processor. Might as well just get one now. Dual core at this point is not that big of a jump in performance for me to jump on that bandwagon yet plus 4G for everyone is very minimal. Those are my reasons for getting an iP4 now.
62. CRICKETownz (Posts: 980; Member since: 24 Oct 2009)
Sorry typos...not adjusted to this keyboard yet...a little diff. from Android.
67. Sniggly (Posts: 6404; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Actually there were no fangs. I just figured that if you're going to buy the iphone you might as well wait three months and pay exactly what you just paid now for the new product. Or wait until they drop the price on the old one.
