Every city should do this!!!! I don't know how many times I have almost gotten into an accident because the other driver was on thier cell phone. Speakerphone or bluetooth people!!!!

so you are just one of those people who think they are so good at driving that you can talk while driving??? that's ridiculous. either use a bluetooth or wait to call your probation officer until you are not in your car!

I totally agree! Every city should do this, especially busy cities in California! I have seen so many people on their phones while driving, it drives me insane! I'm guessing California is more lenient on the law, just look at Maria Shriver. Something needs to be done.

That's a way to fix local budgets, have one day a month were cops actually get off their collective butts and don't just wait around for a call.

mixed feelings here. i've lived in 3 cities all with the ban on cell phones while driving and this happens: you don't wanna get caught texting or talking so you try and hide it and that makes your driving worse. the penalty for texting is usually higher and it's so common to text and drive now.... it's sketchy. personally id rather have some zero brain soccer mom chatting her ass off while driving instead of a 16 year old girl trying to drive with her knees whle she tries to text on her iphone.
