I agree to the article. Real world scenario is lot different than what we people see in the comments below the tech site articles. Those who bother to conquer for their camp know why they love the specific platform/os. And sadly their number is much less than the 'normal' people who just want to flaunt their phones, but don't do much besides making calls/texting or light entertainment use.

Well, works for them anyway. No one can and should complain. I am myself a Nokia fan and whenever I tell someone abt the 920 getting all excited, I find that 95% of 'em don't seem to know it, or mistake it for the old 800 or 900. Same in the case of WP8.

IMHO, iOS is just easy to use so it targets more users whilst Android, on the other hand, requires at least a little bit of understanding on technology and definitely targets geeks and people who are interested and wants to learn more about their device(s), instead of just using it.

iOS' big in the US, not so much in the other countries. If you interview enough people in the US, you'd find a group where iOS is the prefered OS. Interview even more people and you'll find groups where Android and even W8 are prefered. Quarterly stats are far more accurate but opinions of users are interesting, especially the funny ones.

This is no surprise. Usually the more educated people live in the big cities and it is logical to prefer iPhone. They are busy and active and need a system that works flawlessly.

I believe you can do a lil more out of the box of a android phone than you can an i phone. Yes Apple does have the bigger app store but there is still restrictions that you must jailbreak the phone to in joy. as for the ease of use, i think it depends on the individual themselves. I do agree when many have said that anyone will buy the iphone simply because its the iphone. Its the latest trend that proves to those who care you have some kind of money. Very few people know or care about the full functionality of their phones. If you go down the line of specs yes android has it locked but i also think the smooth interface of the iphone kills that. I've used apple before and it seems like unless your in the "Apple Eco-System" of products, The Iphone actually does the same if not less than most of its competition. If i had to make one choice only it would be android.

this article just proves more on what kind of people are on here then about phones themselves

so an article saying new yorkers prefer the iphone, first its not concrete and doesnt mean its true you cant speak for a whole city, second does it matter or effect you in any way what others prefer to have

This comment section is full of win. NYC in one densely populated area, and there are a lot of iPhone users here but there are just as many Android users, only difference is iPhone users tend to be a bit on the dumb side as they only know that this phone is popular and mainly parrot off crap told to them. Although I know so many Android users and they actually know about their phone and it varies, from professionals to regular jocks.

Thing with Android users they actually find out about their phone prior to purchase, iPhone not so much. It's the same with all Apple products since Apple became popular, these idiots think that an iPod and an MP3 player are two different things. NYC home of the craziest things you can think of. Don't judge New Yorkers as all obnoxious and full of themselves, because in every city you can find people just like that, in fact some of them are posting right here in this comment section xD.

This is a bad test, poll or otherwise failure of getting any worthwhile information. Fun to read comments though, can find out who is green with envy because of lack there of though.

it's a iNew York world. everytime i visit my relatives in ny and go to the city every corner i look at or in a store is a iPhone. even my uncle have a iphone/mac. but im the only one next to a few cousins whos on T-Mobile uses a black Berry or a Android phone. but for me I CHOOSE ANDROID
