New Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 owners getting free push-to-talk service?
Sometimes you've got to lower prices in order to get people to take notice of such things – and that's exactly what Verizon is doing after the sluggish adoption rates for their $5/month push-to-talk service for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 based on a leaked document. Now priced at an attractive $0/month for PTT service on the BlackBerry Tour 9630, it'll hopefully spur some customers to take notice and add on the feature when they activate the handset – which interestingly enough will stay free up until its end-date of June 30th. New customers can simply take advantage of this special offer by downloading the PTT software, but it isn't known if current customers who already pay for it will see an automatic adjustment. Finally, it's also not clear if this promotion will extend to other BlackBerry handsets, but it's still nice to see Big Red going through with the promotion. Now customers will be torn by this new move on Verizon's part as we get closer to the rumored release of the BlackBerry Bold 9650 – that's unless the offer is only good for the Tour 9630.
