This commercial isnt as good as the others.....

And.... FIRST

Also another thing is that they are comparing an iphone 4 ( no voice to text) with a galaxy s2. The iphone 4s has voice to text.

I expect to read some truly stupid comments in here from the usual suspects, but to make sense of this. Samsung has no other choice but to market against Apple, who else is their competition? No point in going after another Android supplier as they are far ahead of them easily, so only other competition is Apple. No point in giving WP7 free advertising, lol. Learning marketing strategy, but since there is only one iPhone makes targeting easier and Samsungs GSII devices look nothing like the iPhone. Let the stupidity and ignorance along with blind devotion commence.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the content. Doesn't the iPhone do better voice to text commands now? If what people are waiting in line for is the iPhone 4S, then this commercial is kinda irrelevant.

I really dislike the way Samsung are going about this. I personally don't agree with this kind of aggressive advertisement.

11. tacohunter posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:22 2 9

In some countries it's forbidden this kind of advertising

19. ivanko34 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:26 8 2

i am sure you would like to live in such countries

Then don't watch them. Simple. As a an Apple fan, i think they are funny.

I love these ads :D

6. jamrockjones posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:04 17 2

I love that they target Apple, cause not only is it promoting Samsung but it's also advertising for Android in general, really the only other popular platform besides iOS.

7. biophone posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:09 4 16

Another disingenous samsung ad. You can type with your voice using siri. Also i have an iphone 4 and type with my voice with apps for free that work great. I am sorry but this ad wasn't even clever. Samsung their is plenty of think for you to gloat about but you never pick the right things. Anyone that does not tealize this is blind. This is way worse then any of the apple ads. Another thing go after apple not the fans because its the fans that you are trying toconvert qnd making fun of them is not a good idea.(yea i know they talked about aps in the article i rea it.

13. remixfa posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:50 5 2

this wasn't my favorite Samsung attack add, but it wasn't as bad as apple's retarded "if its not an iPhone" commercials where they touted such " iPhone only " features like ebooks and apps aand made it seem like they were the only ones with it ..lol
its magical!!! lol

27. biophone posted on 23 Jan 2012, 17:06 2 6

I think they were just trying to say their's is better.

45. remixfa posted on 24 Jan 2012, 07:03 1

which would be exactly what samsung is doing. durka

30. -box- posted on 23 Jan 2012, 17:32 1

While the point is valid that one can download an app do improve functionality, apple has been making similar claims in its ads for years, the only difference is that they'll state something about an apple-only product making it seem like the competition doesn't haveything like that feature (facetime ads come to mind most accurately for this) when in fact the competition does have something similar, if not better

32. biophone posted on 23 Jan 2012, 18:04 1 4

The difference is that apple said no other phone has FaceTime which is true. Samsung said iPhone doesn't have voice to text functionality which isn't true. Apple never said anything about video calling. FaceTime is an apple term.

8. MorePhonesThanNeeded posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:13 3

The commercial seemed a little clumsy, but that could be because they wanted the iphone owner to be clumsy. Samsung's strategy is focus on built in software not apps you can install, who wrote this editorial? I know you noticed this mr. editor, I am appalled that you left it in making you seem like you are grasping at straws to defend something you like...perhaps? One thing that is consistent in each ad is the people waiting in line, which can be a double edged piece as it shows the popularity of the iPhone and at the same time how kind of ridiculous it is to see how people will do odd things because of the iPhone.

@eric could be that she was calling him cute in a platonic way, as he was like a lost puppy kind of cute. Not a have to have him kind of cute. Women definition of a word changes depending on the current situation that they used the word in. Gotta love the female sex of our species.

Who is going to keep count of the erratic comments bent on vindicating Apple and damning Samsung for this commercial?

9. Mr.Mr.Upgrade posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:17 6 8

Iphone had its time game over

41. thebikerboi2 posted on 24 Jan 2012, 00:48 2

and yet it still sells more and outperforms most android smartphones, i think that the game is just heating up for both andorid and ios.

10. oueighteen95 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:18 12 2

I love this, its like Samsung saying the more you sue us the more we make commercials showing how much your phone really can't do. I love how all the apple fanboys are saying this is overkill when apple is trying to get every court in the world to stop the sell of Android devices in their countries. Slide to Unlock, seriously.

12. Sackboy117 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:25 2 3

Aren't you able to text with voice also on the original iPhone 4 without using 3rd party apps??

17. SlimSoulja86 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:14 2

Ah nope you cant. You need 3rd party apps to do that.

14. ivanko34 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:57 5 3

15. theBankRobber posted on 23 Jan 2012, 15:58 8 2

Samsung is showing everyone that the iPhone is not the 1st and only phone that can do voice text and GPS maps, and whatever else Apple markets. Apple markets features like they are the only ones who have these features when Android has had many of the features without 3rd party apps. Problem is Apple always markets it 1st, then everyone else follows. I mean really ask yourself, how many Android commercials do you see on TV and in ads? Besides the nexus brand which the carrier markets it as a Google experience phone, there isn't any. They need to market Android itself, not the phones. Bow about the next Samsung or Motorola or HTC commercial let people know there phone IS a Android device. I ask people if they have a Android phone and they say no I have a Evo or Gallaxy S. They don't even know what Android is or even what the Android Market, that's Google's weak point.

22. jd829 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:34 2 1

Right there with you. The only really noticible android commercials are for Droid Razor, but they don't say anything about what the phone can do! Just line after line of thin! strong! thin! strong!

And don't even get me started about the Nexus ads! The Nexus S is arguably the best phone on the market right now, and their freakin' ad shows that you can organize your contacts into groups?? Really?

18. Bluesky02 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:14 2 4

This iPhone against commercial is turning ridiculous. There are alre iPhone owners who have Android smartphone too.

20. SlimSoulja86 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:26 5 2

@Alan F, for me I feel like you didn't review the Ad, it's more like you were bashing Samsung instead of reviewing or updating us about what Samsung is saying about my Apple (let the truth be told) when you write stuff for people you should try to be objective instead of bn subjective.

"judging from the dumbfounded look on the face of the blogging iPhone user, it looks like he might never have heard of the App Store or Dragon Dictation. And here is the problem with this ad, it is asking the viewer to believe that the iPhone user wouldn't have just downloaded a speech to text app", this to me as a journalism student, tells me that you're a fan of Apple, yet you write to ppl who loves all sorts of different OS'. Don't you think that maybe Samsung was making fun of Siri in this Ad? or possible making fun of iPhone 4, since all Ad are focusing on pre-iPhone 4S release (hence the iFans are Q'ing for the new iPhone 4S) Just a thought.

34. Habib posted on 23 Jan 2012, 19:43 4 1

Agree with you there!

what the commercial actually meant, prolly, that SGII already have speech to text and IPHONE 4S now came out with SIRI!!!

@ ARTICLE, seriously??
this guy do tend to lean towards IPHONE, with his other articles too.

21. ardent1 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:33 1 4

Samsung continues to attack Apple's ancient features. Siri has been out for some time now.

Btw, did you guys checks out the new textbooks. Apple is creating yet a new market and changing people's lives. "Life on Earth" is free and the book is just unbelievable.

33. terencespark posted on 23 Jan 2012, 19:19 4 1

lol.. that's great..
apple has not changed my life.
at all.
i mean.. eating apples affect my life much more than the company, and i don't eat apples very often.

24. xiobnb posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:38 1 1

why are ppl mad about the ads anyway i dont see the ads on tv anyway

25. SlimSoulja86 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 16:45 5 2

if ppl r mad, it means Samsung hit a nerve, which is what Samsung is looking for.

Apple doesnt pay my bills (I pay their bills) so im not gonna stress myself about ppl that make millions if not billions of $$. These Ads are funny to me and interesting. if they were not interesting, we wouldnt even bother to press play, for the fact that we're watching them, it means they are interesting. As much as I love Apple, I aint gonn stress me about this, so should all of yall iFans, it's just an Ad, Samsung is not destroying iOS, or taking them away from yall. So yall gatta chill

28. c.hack posted on 23 Jan 2012, 17:18 2 8

Samsung just makes themselves look more and more lame. The only ones dumber than the iPhone actors are the android fanbous that actually believe these ads.

35. Johnny_Mnemonic posted on 23 Jan 2012, 21:57 2 2

Only lame people stand in line just to get the cdapphone , that what I call dumb

29. Meth7 posted on 23 Jan 2012, 17:24 4

When iPhone first came out, there was no real competition in this market segment. It was no brainer. I mean I agree that iphone 3 was the product which brought phones to a whole another level. Granted, yet the situation has changed a lot since then. They are facing real threats from the likes of Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Sony, etc. No wonder Apple is feeling insecure and is sueing everyone else.

31. SoopaManLuv posted on 23 Jan 2012, 17:44 4 1

Apple's new slogan should read "if u can't beat em sue em". Jus saying...

39. krazdjokr26 posted on 24 Jan 2012, 00:26 2 2

This commercial was lame as hell... And I have an android phone... What killed it was when she asked the guy to buy one and he refused... Makes android look second hand... To me it seemed like he was making fun of how dry the voice to text is. And he didn't seem to enthused about the Samsung phone. And besides it seems as if the target was the iPhone 4 not 4S if you listen she states a command to text followed by the content. If your gonna point out flaws of another product make sure you market your product in a way that makes people GOTTA HAVE IT... I wasn't wowed... I don't even use the voice to text on my htc evo 3d.

Too bad I'm not convinced...

I'll be joining the apple iPhone 4S ranks January 27th... Sick of android...

44. SlimSoulja86 posted on 24 Jan 2012, 03:02 1 1

My god people, it's just a commercial. Make your own choices, and let everyone else make theirs.

49. 530gemini posted on 24 Jan 2012, 14:29 2

At the end of the day, the ip4s, ip4, and the ip3gs are still the topselling phones :)

And yes, the iphone has voice to txt apps. Only an ignorant fandroid wouldn't know that :)

With that said, REAL iphone users probably raised a brow on how dumb this commercial is, on an attempt to misinform the viewers. Oh well, obviously the consumers know that Samsung commercials against the iphone are stupid. The iphone still is the number one phone on all carriers that sell it :)

50. Johnny_Mnemonic posted on 24 Jan 2012, 19:08

Gemini the only thing I see real is that iPhone is stupid and it sucks period

51. rcrider4 posted on 24 Jan 2012, 21:47

Hmmm, weird, cuz I thought that is what the mic on my iPhone 4S's keyboard was for.
