I think that's a catastrophe about to happened.
*** I've seen a lot of APPLE user go to papa-mama shop to download apple apps because they don't have credit card / iTunes account.
*** They PAY A LOT TO THIS STORE. ABOUT US$ 1 - US$ 5 for EACH GAME. Small game like bellow 100MB were US$ 1, and the price went up according to game size and popularity.
*** The one that get the money is this papa-mama shop. If the user want the paid apps, they will tell them to jailbreak (another US$30-50), then they will install pirated apps, but still asking lots of money.

After a while.... these people moved away from their iphone to android.

Apple PROBLEM in Asian like China and India were:

1. CREDIT CARD!!!! CREDIT CARD!!!! CREDIT CARD!!!!
around 90% of middle class worker (US$ 200 - 500 /month) in this country DON'T have credit card.

2. Price sensitivity. Unlike American, Asian doesn't valued apple brand like god. So, if price/performance were too far from competing android brand, apple won't be success.

You're 100% correct... And to add to that, the cheaper Apple phones that they are coming out with are a generation and 2 generations back. This is how the company works... When are all these people going to learn? They've come out with all these endless BS rumors before (just like above) which end up to be totally false and a huge disappointment to consumers....

I'd be pretty certain by now that an OS change is in the works. Problem is, it takes time. And it'll take even more time seeing as they only threw Jony Ive into the OS design position a few months ago. A proper OS isn't just built in a few months...

I have a feeling we won't see a real OS update until next year.

I read a lot of your posts and I always tend to take your side. I really don't want to stop using my iPhone... I just want something new and refreshing. I want more of what the competition has already been enjoying without the lags and bugs of Android (Insert hate comment bellow...lol)

The iPhone 5 was a decent improvement but jst not enough for me t commit to another 2yr contact and shell out additional $200 bucks.

I was the same way. I thought the 5 was a decent upgrade but wanted something refreshing, so i got a galaxy 3. It was the not a good phone. Terrible battery life, alot of lag, bad reception, and it was huge you had to use two hands to do everything. After 3 weeks i took it back. The other side is not greener. Especially if you have a mac. Apple at least works. The features Samsung brags about aren't even that cool. I know i'll get a million thumbs down but Samsung isn't awesome. I think Apple needs to refresh iOS and i'll stick with them.

A cheap spec iPhone can't compete with a mid-range priced Android such as the Nexus 4, the now-afforable S3/Note II and soon-cheap Droid DNA, Oppo Find 5 etc. What happened with the iPad Mini is telling: it had ZERO effect on Android tablet sales, but the real profit maker for Apple, iPad 4 sales dropped. The same thing on the iPhone front (fanboys going for cheap, rest going for Android) would be disastrous however, but Apple doesn't have a choice since they are already beaten to the punch in the premium category.
