New RAZR ICS leak matches file size from Verizon documents
0. phoneArena posted on 27 Apr 2012, 18:26
The folks over at DROIDRZR have released a new build of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Motorola DROID RAZR. The latest leak checks in at roughly 343 MB, which is only 2 MB over of the file size listed in yesterday’s Verizon documentation...

ummmm, yeahhh, I have been running ICS 4.0.3/4 for a few weeks now...so this is old, but, still great , news.
8. networkdood posted on 27 Apr 2012, 20:00 0 1
wow, so you are jealous because I have been running ICS on my phone for a few weeks?
14. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 20:43 1 1
no, because you think this isn't news. you're running 6.14.75 not this 6.14.81.
34. networkdood posted on 28 Apr 2012, 11:15 1 1
huh, not really that important as I do not have the bloatware that this version has. I will change to the official once I find a good custom ROM.
38. KingKurogiii posted on 28 Apr 2012, 11:33 0 1
huh...i forgot all about the bloatware. probably because of all the different ways i've been using to you know...hide it. :P

ok, here it is - works great, but do not use any kind of battery saving program as it does prevent data from being used...battery lasts a full day:

actually this is fresh news. the build is updated from the one that leaked a few weeks ago. i'm gonna flash it here in a few minutes.

In the past: Motorola = one of the most hated and crappy skins on Android
Today: Motorola = one of the best looking ICS skins.

Apex or Nova launcher looks really nice with it....
12. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 20:40 2 1
i use Nova Launcher Prime with mine. it looks better with the smaller fonts, lack of labels under the dock icons and the slightly better looking app drawer but ironically they're almost identical and the Stock Launcher performs wayyy better and that's with 6.14.75. xD
4. nnaatthhaannx2 posted on 27 Apr 2012, 19:41 0 0
Wait so why does it take over a month to get it out to us?
I would root and whatnot to get it, but I want to get this update, then root/rom/whatever since there probably won't be any other updates comming out soon after.
6. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 19:57 2 1
so you're gonna stay ICS-less in the meantime because you don't want to go through the trouble? well let me tell you it's worth it and i don't normally flash any ROMs.

Can you make a guide for me.
I checked youtube and they are all in foriegn languages or with people with very odd accents, that makes them not-so-trustworty.

I did it for my sister-in-law's RAZR last week and it took me a total of two hours (90% of which was downloading files).
I literally Googled "Droid RAZR ICS leak"

the source link should have everything you need if you're rooted and if you're not i'll link you a root guide when i get home.

is there any reliable source for rooting my atrix?and since this is the first time rooting , is there any must-do things, your answer will be greatly appreciated.

Either use the source link or search XDA or DROIDRZR. Both sites have excellent guides. As far as root, there are a few options, I personally tested out CASUAL, which essential bundles the Motofail exploit KingKurogiii posted in a pretty, one-click, and accident preventative GUI. :) Once again just search XDA for "CASUAL RAZR" and the guide will pop up.

if it's on Gingerbread that Motofail method should work. it's a complete Motorola 2.3 exploit. o:

Im hoping to get into the soak test for the Photon. That's what lead up to these ICS leaks for the Razor. Glad to see Motorola sticking to there 2012 goal for updates there devices on time .

Ashamed to admit that I wish I would have gotten the RAZR Maxx instead of the Galaxy Nexus, or at least kept the original RAZR.
13. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 20:41 1 2
xD i knew it was going to be like this. that's why i didn't fall for the Nexus.

My DROID 4 better get this soon since they are pretty much the same phone. The only difference is the screen and keyboard.
16. androidornothing posted on 27 Apr 2012, 21:44 0 0
What about the freakin Droid Bionic!!!! Man Motorola and Verizon are completely forgetting that phone.
17. Droid_X_Doug posted on 27 Apr 2012, 22:11 0 0
I just hope VZW releases the ICS upgrade for the RAZR before May 23rd. All of these leaks are making me wish the code was a production release. It is going to be hard to patiently wait until the 23rd.
18. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 22:43 0 1
well i've got it running now and right off the bat i notice it is a bit smoother and a few of the icons have changed. the messaging and voicemail for instance.
20. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 22:50 0 1
*UPDATE*
they've also changed the "Favorites" widget. it's improved i think, the App Launcher Shortcut now has an "Apps" label beneath it and i THINK the keyboard has been tweaked.
21. bokajay posted on 27 Apr 2012, 23:09 0 0
This leak is a lot faster/smoother than the previous ICS leak for the Razr. That being said the problem right now is there is no way to get back on the upgrade track currently after flashing this. The fastboot files available cannot take you back at this point. (Warning for all)
22. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 23:32 0 1
xD you can just use Mike G's Razr Utility to flash back to .173 then you can update to .181 no problem.
23. KingKurogiii posted on 27 Apr 2012, 23:36 0 1
*UPDATE 2*
i can now confirm that Flash Player 11 is working in this build and let me tell you what this thing is re-downloading my apps like it's nobody's business, i can hardly keep up with them. i've never seen anything restore apps this fast. the only things now that's going to get me back on Nova Launcher is getting to have a 4x5 grid vs. a 4x4 grid on the Stock Launcher and i like how much more organized the App Drawer is in Nova Launcher. Stock isn't bad at that but Nova is still better.

yes, screenshots are taken by a simultaneous push of the power & volume down keys. if there is anything you guys would like to see about this ask me and add me on G+ and i'll do my best to get a picture up for you guys.
36. networkdood posted on 28 Apr 2012, 11:27 0 0
easier on my ROM - just hold down power key and option appears....
39. KingKurogiii posted on 28 Apr 2012, 11:36 0 1
so you hold down your power key, wait for the selection menu to show up and then you have to select the option to take a screenshot? and that's easier than pressing two buttons simultaneously to take a screenshot? lol okay. whatever floats your boat. xD
46. mas11 posted on 29 Apr 2012, 17:06 0 0
Isn't that the same way you simulate a battery removal. I guess taking a screenshot is just a shorter period of time.
47. KingKurogiii posted on 29 Apr 2012, 22:27 1 1
i've only had to do a reset like that once when i flashed 4.0.3 on my dad's MAXX and it had those settling bugs which caused a freeze-up but i can't remember if it was with the power + volume down or if it was with the power + both volume buttons but if it's actually the former i guess it's like what you said and the time intervals are what decides the command. o:

I love ICS for the way it organizes everything. Now, I have nice looking folders, that can be customized on looks and name, and I do not need to have 5 screens worth of stuff to find everything as for the most part everything I need/use is one screen:

I can't wait for this! Glad to see Moto finally changed the Theme and got rid of the Blue Notification bar that doesn't match anything. Especially when you're on a RAZR MAXX and everything else is black but your Notification bar.
