Cool.Prepaid, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), has officially launched. The new carrier uses Cingular Wireless's network. It intends to compete by offering its subscribers low airtime rates as well as new and popular mobile phones. The MVNO marks its launch with the Motorola RAZR V3 handset, which is offered for $249.99. Besides it, two other Motorola phones – V555 and V173 – are also available. Cool.Prepaid's service costs 30 cents per day and a flat rate of 10 cents per minute for calls within the US. Text messages are 10 cents. The international rates, which set the operator apart from other MVNOs, cost additional 5 to 36 cents per minute. Cool.Prepaid will also offer a SIM-only solution for those who already have an unlocked GSM phone. There is a special program, called cool.Rewards, which will give subscribers different rewards and free stuff.
