New HTC commercial claims One series is the product of listening to customers

0. phoneArena 30 Mar 2012, 19:19 posted on

We can't be too sure what exactly HTC means when it says that it "listens" to customers. It could be that HTC has done extensive surveys, or compiled data from customer service calls, or has simply inferred public sentiment...

HTC is so wrong, The HTC One is more Like An iPhone. Here I am trying to not buy an iCrap iPhone, because I hate that the iPhone don't have an expansion slot or removable battery. Hence the main reason as a Mac own of everything except the iCrap iPhone that I never wanted to buy.

Now GSIII and HTC are doing just the same, no removable battery or expansion slot. OK if I'm gonna have to chose from basically no option anymore, Then I'll bite the bullet and get the one with the best ecosystem, and I hate to say this "iPhone". But deep down I really want to continue with my Android phone, however a deal breaker for me is having that extra battery in my pocket so I can just swop in my busy life, I don't have time like those iPhone headless chicken to look all over town for a plug, then waste time to sit and wait to juice up.

The new trend of Android are gonna be dead with many Mac user who gonna hate these new breed of Android for the FACT of NO! expansion slots and removable battery. Window user you guys will be just fine, Just talking about Mac user and Haters of iPhone, But LOVE Apple ecosystem, because it is better in every which way.

Plus if I'm gonna be force to use phone with no removable battery or slot expansion, because this is the new market it seems with the Android devices coming out. Try to force user to use cloud storage and use up data like crazy. I will switch to the iCrap iPhone because at least the have a apple genius bar I could go to with problems. Unlike with Android devices. So Android seem like you pushing your Mac user to the arms of Apple to complete our gadgets.

It is your opinion and it is OK, but talking about Apple ecosystem... Repairing the New iPad sucks and it is part of Apple marketing and politics too. Also build quality doesn't look so good it is more cheaper than solid...

If you think HTC s "soo wrong" then keep it to yourself, nobody asked for your opinion and danny_a2005 didn't ask for a 4 paragraph response. If you hate android no, then good for you, get a blackberry.

Yeah, I have to agree with the other commenters. You and I had a long conversation about this in another thread. You are fully welcome to your opinion, but rather than repeating the same thing over and over, why don't you just not buy an HTC One device? There you go.

You are not being "forced" to use any phone. You buy what you want. If this isn't it, then you move on. Simple as that.

Well, unfortunately for you and those 99% who are happy go lucky with 3G speed, 8GB storage, no expansion slots or removable battery. As well as whatever is fed to you, like baby bird so quick with your month wide OPEN! Me on the other hand, I'm a different breed, mover and shaker, beta tester that ask tough question, Why? Why? and Why? again, until change is made. So to all you 995 fools, your welcome. Count on me to always be the one to be asking question, demanding a difference, I never except things as factual unless I have proof. So you 99% fools probably move on when you are told the sun won't come up. As for me, I stop and wait, cause I will see that sun in the horizon. While your all asleep and miss the sunshine.

Does this mean they listen to all the customers that want a LARGE battery in their phone so that they can use, actually use it, all day long and not have to stress about battery life? I understand that their 28nm process will increase efficiency, yet wouldn't a 2-2500 Mah battery also make this phone King, or Queen if you prefer, of the battery life department? I am ok with having a phone that is not superthin like many of those Japan-exclusive phones are trending towards.

I agree, this super thin trend kinda sucks, I would love to get a phone that makes it an entire day with the battery out of the box. I would much rather that then a phone that's 2mm thin. (exaggerated of course)

Not really.. if you see the phone is mostly on the companion chip that is at 500 mhz.. at max it may enable one or two at max.. for using all the four cores.. you need applications optimized for the four core.. there are only a few that too games.. but for normal users.. im sure it will give good battery backup.. I arrived at this conclusion based on theoretical analysis.. but the actual world performance may differ..
so if I am supposed to use this one.. im expecting it atleast a day or two..

Horrible commercial. Everyone of those "scenes" should have incorporated the phone in someway. I like the one series, but comon, you got to do better in the marketing dept HTC. And, if HTC truly listened, then they would eliminate carrier bloat from their phones and make their software(radios and the like) open source. Oh, and ship their phones with unlocked bootloaders. But still, HTC is better than Moto in all of the above.

I'm a customer and I feel the same way. I don't remember them asking, but I do remember shelling out for the original Droid Incredible which has both those features, so I feel like they should have been able to figure it out...

I been saying it from the beginning you fool, iCrap iCrap iCrap iCrap, YES! However if the only option in the market for high end flagship phone are going no removable battery or expansion slot. Then I have to pick the best of the crap that is before me. That would be iCrap iPhone, So pretty smart if you ask me. Now give me that HTC One X with my requirements. Then it will be HTC One X, not because of Android ecosystem, because the world already know Apple has the best in that market. Just read up about it and you'll see you fool. However I'm comfortable to stay with the play store, If I get my HTC the way I want it.

That's because people ask for those things by never using them. Only those of us in our tech elite bubble get annoyed about not having removable batteries or sd cards. Average users couldn't care less about those things.
