I really like the 816. Looks good, kinda like blend of HTC One and iPhone 5C, specs are really sufficient and price is not too bad either. Hopely it succeeds.

The Desire 816 may save HTC at this point :D It's a beastly for a mid range phone. They need to try to grab market share from all three tiers to help them to see some black!!

I don't see the Desire 816 selling much since the Moto X is available at a similar price and is a much better phone.

Hmmmm......desire 816 was the one i was waiting for but for $400 i can get a brand new HTC one m7!
Or the nexus 5 which is even cheaper and has better specs!
The only thing that might be the game changer could be the camera!
Still unsure o.O

First of all, for HTC's sake, I'm glad to see that the Desire 816 doesn't appear to have a fatal flaw like the M8's 4MP camera.

I agree -- it also seems like low specs for the price. Nexus 5, OnePlus, even Find7a (for $500) offer a lot better value for the money than the Desire 816.

Why is 512MB of RAM all the rage in the low-end these days?

Do the people in the ad look like they care how much RAM is in their phone? :)
