New Google Maps for Mobile adds Latitude feature
Mobile users can now grab the latest version of Google Maps for their handheld devices which offers the new Latitude feature. It basically will allow you to see where your friends are located on the map if they share that information with you. You’ll need to have a Google account in order to sign in and use the feature and invite friends or Google contacts to join. Google Talk is also integrated into Latitude so you and your friends can update profile photos and status messages. You can even send quick text messages, email, or IM all within the application. And if you don’t want your boss to find out you’re down by the beach when you called out sick for the day, you can control how much or little information you want to share. Right now it’s available for Windows Mobile, Android, BlackBerry, and Symbian S60 devices. There is no support yet for iPhone users, but they hope to release one soon. You can head on over to the Google Maps site and download it right now.
