0. phoneArena 05 Sep 2012, 06:02 posted on

Found in a Chinese forum are pictures of a new HTC phone with some red accents on the side which could point to a eventual release by Verizon, which isn't called Big Red for nothing; a 5 inch HTC phablet has been rumored and this could be it...

There is also the dual core S4 Pro with Adreno 320 GPU. So it doesn't have to be a quad core Krait.

Looking forward to this. I'm not into phablets, but for HTC fans who are interested this is great. Maybe they'll release it with Jelly Bean and Sense 4.1? Along with that S4 Pro, it should be a monster

It looks irreducible! I've been waiting for HTC to come out with a 5" phone.

Why would people dislike your comment about a non removable battery? Stupid ass people why would you not want a battery you can't take out? HTC is knows for their s**tty battery life in Phones! With a removable no one would complain.

Are 5" screen phones really phablets? or are they just previews to the size of the next generation of phones coming next year?

I'm not a fan of the term "phablet" either, but if you're gonna define it...the smallest tablets are 7". The term was first used to describe the Galaxy Note with its 5.3" screen even though the Dell Streak was technically the first with its 5" screen. The Vu has a 5" screeen & the upcoming Galaxy Note will the biggest at 5.5". There's proababy a good chance that they will get even bigger at some point, so I would say 5" to anything less than 7" is probably a good way to define to category.

I thought adreno 320 was only compatable with quadcore s4
and isn't adreno 225 for dualcore s4?

Wow, that phone looks to be shaping up to have some serious potential. It's hard to believe Verizon will actually be home to one of HTC's iconic unibody phones. Even the "premium" Verizon HTC phones such the Rezound and Incredible before that, didn't have that characteristic top shelf feel to them like their counterparts on other networks. I'm not even going to address the Thunderbolt with its abysmal battery making it virtually useless.

Hopefully these rumors and leaks are the real deal, although I'm still avoiding HTC like the plague due to them trailing a bad pack when it comes to updating relatively new phones (especially tablets) to the latest version of Android.

If this hits the usa with quad s4, a320 and 2gb ram... Shut up and take my money!
For me it's this or LG Optimus G (If it ever hits the u.s). I love HTC products though. Went from htc kaiser to htc incredible, next might be this sexy beast (beast, if quad s4, a320 and 2gb ram lol )! Or maybe g note2 but i'm sure that will be dual core snapdragon when it gets here, if so not getting that!
So quad s4 can work on u.s LTE right? just not quad tegra or exynos?

i wonder why only qualcomm chips make an LTE... thats why they are on top coz they are the only one with LTE!! i think NVIDIA, TI and Samsung should start making its chips to be LTE ready... qualcomm is enjoying its monopoly so much...

hope VZW doesn't lock the bootloader... if those specs would be in a production phone, Would churn from at&T and the note II to get an htc phone with a hd 5" screen.

Considering how lauded the original Thunderbolt was for being a buggy mess, that would be a mistake. The smarter move would be to lump it under the Incredible/Rezound series or give it a new name altogether.

Yup, just like the original Thunderblot, keeping tradition.
