Alien Dalvik will be demoed on a Nokia N900 running MeeGo at the MWC next week. Myriad claims the majority of apps run unmodified on non-Android handsets, and app store owners can simply repackage the existing .APK files...

Why would Nokia not approve this? Are you guys dumb?
This gives Nokia the advantage of having way more apps than Android now.
Nokia's Qt is the backend for Alien Dalvik. Qt FTW!

why not go android?...because the n900 Maemo puts android to shame in what you can do with it...but then, they married MS (although, that is somewhat different)...=/
anyways, this Alien Dalvik would allow the Maemo\Meego users get android apps without having to deal with the restricted nonsense google built...i mean, "rooting" an EVO to get rid of some "nascar" app...android is a joke when it comes to modifications and openness of the system...
i have an n900 and i'd gladly pay for this because i want some of the android apps...and i don't want android...just, some of the apps
