MyBlackBerry social network launches today
Social networks have been gaining an increasing popularity. Everyone strives to become more "social", but instead of calling on a neighbors, it´s personal computers many people fall back on, so it was about time RIM bent their steps towards offering own social service. Unlike the Android, however, the goal of the company is not an improved device integration of Facebook, MySpace and the like.

The manufacturer is about to launch its own social network, called MyBlackBerry, where all BlackBerry owners will be permitted to create personal profiles and share opinion about applications, accessories as well as reveal helpful tips and tricks for for their devices. All registered users will be able to take part in the discussions, which would allow RIM to collect feedback and gain insight on issues of interest to their customers. It´s a good news that MyBlackBerry will be able to self-customize depending on your particular handset model and provide you with information that is relevant to you. A neat idea indeed, because for an instance, Bold owners can hardly be blamed for the lack of interest in issues affecting the Storm.

Let´s hope the new social network proves to be a source of helpful information that would enable the manufacturer to deliver improved functionality, instead of ending up swamped in pointless tests and myriads of online games, much like Facebook. MyBlackBerry can be found here.
