The multitasking regime will arrive to the phone with the next Android 4.1.2 update, judging from some leaked screenshots that display a trial update for a Galaxy S III on an Israeli carrier. The split screen mode is also coming to the gallery, where you have the albums/folders on the left, and their content on the right, just like on the Note II...

But how to do that without that s-pen?

you dont need S-Pen, you just hold the back button and it appears ! :)

it's just to show the task window. What about the others? The peeking-things?
They didn't say which features gonna be there for S III. I thought it's all of them.

As much as I like this feature I think it should've stayed exclsuive to the Note series and moreover multi-window suits devices at least having a screen size of 5+ inches...just my opinion though

The more features, the better. One does not always have to use all features.

Samsung is no apple and it's better this way. Sure, multiscreen does make more sense on bigger screen, but it's always good to have more options, you know. And it's up to the GSIII users to see if they want to use this feature or not.

Android at its best.
Even makes me think Samsung flagship is better to have software wise, than the Nexus.
Time for google to take notes from the ..Note haha

This is one the features I would love to see in the stock Android, expecially in any phone with a scren over 4.6 inches and in tablets.

Dam it's feel good to be a sprint customer. Lets see LTE. First to get jelly bean update. First to get multi windows update and hell sprint was second to deliver the galaxy note 2. 1 day after tmobil sprint taking over one city at a time

And Sprint was the first to release the multi window update to the U.S. Market! Sprint has definitely been on the ball lately and I'm loving it! Keep it up Sprint!
On the other hand I agree with some above posters that this should be Note series exclusive. It's not in good taste to tout new and big features(yes I am aware it was on the 10.1 note tablet but its the first on a phone) On a new EXPENSIVE phone. Now I understand the updating of older handsets and they should be getting the Jellybean pushes etc. But not pushing a certain series features to others. All Samsung is accomplishing by doing this is blurring and smearing the lines between the different series. If someone wants certain features for a phone go and purchase that phone.
Samsung damn well better be pushing their new features on phones that release Q1-Q3 of 2013 back to the Note 2 or it will be a heap of BullShlt!

As an apple fan boy this feature makes me cry not having this. Hey guys, the first part of the video when he uses pen to hover over albums and videos, would that work with your finger as well or is it just S pen???

I got the update a few days ago and was able to take advantage of it. All of a sudden I don't get the split screen, even with the semi circle on the left, . Anytime I select an app icon on the left, the phones goes to that app, but doesn't create the split screen. I've gone into Settings > Display > Multi Window is enabled. I've disabled and re-enabled it. Restarted the phone. I just can't get the multi-screen (split screen) to work again. Greatly appreciate any help?
