This is gonna be interesting...

If this is true...its good for iPhone, iOS users. At least until Apple gets Apple maps a lil better.

I personally doubt that a Google Maps app will be released before early 2013. And Apple isn't sitting around chewing bubble gum and drinking Starbucks. The moment Google submits it's Maps app for approval, Apple will go into surge mode to get something released. Even if they do a beta release like what they did with Siri last year.

Update: Macrumors is running an article that claims Google Maps for iOS is in alpha testing. Given that it is mid-October, I doubt that Google Maps for iOS will be released in production before January 2013 earliest.

hahahahah. apple. first you cut google maps and replace with your own app that sucks

now once google comes back... imagine the contrast between google maps and apple maps. even one will love google maps even more.
google wins!

i sense a conspiriacy to increase google maps usage.
nice job apple. thinking of other companies!

Lol really no one would be making a big deal about Google maps coming to ios if apple maps was good out the box... You must be mad if you really think that.

It just works....Google that is. I like how Google focuses on making their products better (even for the competitors platforms) instead of trying to sue everyone.

Funny how Google maps on Android doesn't even have these features!

Seems like Google's iOS team is pretty good. The stock Android apps really need help. There's absolutely no reason for the apps to be better on iOS.

Google Maps for Android is on 6 now. Maybe you are using older versions of stock Android apps?
