Mozilla, hope you have enough patents to defend the platform.

Every one knows for a fact that apple will target it if they gain market share.

Let hope it do well to provide us another viable mobileOS.

Virtually nothing... I mean, really, what else is there? Unless you want to go like space-age and have a hand-held 3D hologram. Really, the only thing they can do is improve what other OSes have brought already, which I doubt they would do in the first version of the OS, especially since they stated that it wasn't built to compete with iOS or Android.

Which is why I think it's best they team up with Google on improving and adding to Android.

Mozilla has improved their browser for Android so much that I'm using it over stock and Dolphin browser but Chrome is a close 2nd.

I think it's much lighter and easy to customize and allows handsets to be cheaper. I guess it will be mostly low end phones, at least initially.

I think you will see an even more open and developer friendly app market than the other OS'. Developers nowadays have to sit there and mess around with the different codings found on the different OS', but with Firefox OS you simply are just creating an HTML5 based application. Less coding means less hassle. Less hassle means that apps get to the market quicker and you will possibly see more applications (though it will take some time for the Firefox OS to catch on).

Even if it does not offer anything completely new, it might be a good alternative for some users and it will most definitely create some healthy competition between Mozillla, Google, Apple etc., in favor of the consumers.

I think its for very low cost handsets. Firefox OS could bring lower cost devices than current low cost Android devices
