Hmm... I wonder why the XT886 has, "Future plan coming soon" instead of the, "Will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)" like the other's do.
Oh well, good to know my Maxx is gettin' some JB love soon.

I'm surprised Mxyzptlk hasn't already given us his usual one-line Motorola troll here yet.

He's at loss of words for defeat of 949 patent.

Okay, so let's see what we have here:
Droid 3 and Milestone 3 are the same phone. The Droid X2 and the Milestone X2 are as well. We've already discussed the Atrix at length-not happy that it's not getting JB, but oh well. Already bitched about it, no point in bitching more.
The Atrix 2 I'm a little disappointed in, but at least they got it to 4.0. The Admiral and Titanium are very similar phones, both released for the Nextel side of Sprint. Neither of them are even close to the kinds of specs you see on most of the phones being upgraded to ICS. The Motorola XPRT was also virtually the same phone.
Did anyone even buy the Cliq 2? Specs wise it's about what the Titanium and Admiral are. The Photon and the Electrify are the same phone, and specs wise indistinguishable from the Atrix 4G.
And finally, the Triumph. That phone was a joke. In fact, it was so bad that it spurred people to investigate whether Motorola even had anything to do with it other than slapping their badge on it, and discovered that it's possibly just a rebadged Huawei phone.
So let's collapse that list down, based on the same or very similar phones:
Droid 3/Milestone 3
Droid X2/Milestone X2
That's essentially 7 phones not getting ICS.
Oh but guess what?
HTC announced all the way back in May that any phone that has 512 megs of RAM or lower wouldn't get ICS. Just counting those phones with such RAM that were released in 2011, that's 7 HTC phones that won't get ICS.
And should we even mention Samsung? They released a metric s**tton of Android based phones in 2011, and most of them will likely never see 4.0.
So really, Motorola isn't doing any better or worse than the other major manufacturers. Their only mistake was promising ICS for the Atrix/Photon/Electrify before figuring out that they couldn't pull it off. If they don't keep pulling that kind of stunt *and they really didn't have such a track record beforehand anyway* they should be good.

I hear ya, Sniggly. If I could add a little to that, it would be that the Atrix 2 & the Bionic are essentially the same phone. Specs are pretty much identically, although the Atrix 2 came out a month later. However, the Bionic is slated for JB & the Atrix 2 is not. The only possible explanation I see for this is sales. The Bionic was heavily marketed & probably sold in a much higher volume than the Atrix 2 did. It seems to me that the only reason it's getting the love over the Atrix 2 is because they would have a lot more unhappy customers to deal with. That's just s**tty.

You're changing your tone. Why is it that when Motorola first gave 2011 device owners the shaft you were pretty ticked? Now you're siding with them for making such a controversial decision.
Jellybean is months old now, there's no excuse for Motorola not updating phones like the Atrix.
The Nexus S got jellybean.
42. Sniggly (Posts: 7119; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
I'm not siding with them on the Atrix/2.
Why ignore what I said about the other manufacturers? Why are you going after Motorola so much when the other manufacturers are guilty of the EXACT SAME FUC.KING THING?
6. Mxyzptlk (Posts: 3700; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
So basically Razr and Atrix owners are screwed? There's more phones that can handle Jellybean. I don't see any reason for them to not updated them.

Who cares, at least there's custom ROM, unlike other OS which does not provide any mods!™®©
11. roscuthiii (Posts: 1841; Member since: 18 Jul 2010)
The Razr's listed as being scheduled to be updated to JB. So there goes that part of the statement.
And with the large line-up of smartphones AT&T is trying to push now, you'll likely find that it's them holding back the update in order to steer people towards a newer purchase rather than hold on to an older phone. Of course that part's speculation.
Either way, your statement's half wrong and all troll.
15. Sniggly (Posts: 7119; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Hi, dumbass. I just thought I would point out that the Razr is listed as getting Jelly Bean.
We already know about the Atrix not getting JB. Yes, it sucks. But at this point it's a dead issue. As in "get over it."
18. Mxyzptlk (Posts: 3700; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
Motorola said the same about the Atrix phones but they later retracted that. The Razr is a 2011 phone, Motorola claimed they were not going to be updating those phones.
How can you sweep something like that under the rug and call it a dead issue? There's honestly no excuse.
23. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5620; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
the Razr can support JB just fine. you can't expect to make a good argument on this issue without good hardware knowledge which i truly believe it all boils down to so just give up guy.
32. Sniggly (Posts: 7119; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Again, hi dumbass. Motorola said that any phone they released in 2011 is eligible for a 100 dollar trade in credit if it didn't get Jelly Bean by New Year's day 2013.
I'm not sweeping anything under the rug. I complained just like everyone else. However, complaining obviously accomplished nothing, so now what? Complain more? What the f**k do you care? Even if Motorola tomorrow declared that every phone going back to the Dynatac was going to get JB, would you buy a Motorola phone?
39. Mxyzptlk (Posts: 3700; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
A $100 trade in credit, are you serious? $100 won't even get you a mid range Android phone. What are you going to do when you're stuck on the phone in question without an upgrade?
Why do you care? Does it rustle your jimmies that much that I dislike Motorola because they refuse to update phones that definitely deserve to be updated?
41. Sniggly (Posts: 7119; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
I asked why you care first.
And I wasn't saying that the 100 dollar credit was even close to adequate. I was correcting your bulls**t.
You know, like I always do.
16. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5620; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
the Razr is scheduled for an upgrade and the Atrix has older hardware that wouldn't be able to support their JB update well. remember even over overwhelmingly popular Tegra II devices like the Tab 10.1 aren't getting JB but what am i doing? you don't troll here for any reason at all.
20. Mxyzptlk (Posts: 3700; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
Jellybean isn't a huge leap over ice cream sandwich. I'm not buying the reasons.
22. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5620; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
performance wise it's a pretty big leap. the Tegra II lacks NEON support so i would imagine the ol' Tegra dos is strained by Project Butter. the XOOM has JB but it also runs a pure AOSP build so it puts less of a load on the SoC and it's not getting 4.2 so that should show how they were just able to eek out 4.1 for it..
24. networkdood (Posts: 6274; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
Mxy, if you can read it does say that the XT912 original DROID RAZR is upgradeable to JB - I already have it on mine. Why do you care? Go eat that worm in the APPLE....
12. frustyak (Posts: 159; Member since: 08 Mar 2010)
Take their update schedule with a grain of salt. For the longest time their update schedule told me my Atrix 4G was to be updated to ICS in Q3 2012. That came and went, and then they decided to not update it at all and leave it at Gingerbread.
Motorola, you're dead to me.
17. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5620; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
the whole point of software upgrades is to improve the user experience. Motorola probably just didn't see pushing the Atrix to ICS as doing that. just get a custom rom already.
19. Mxyzptlk (Posts: 3700; Member since: 21 Apr 2012)
The Atrix phones are more than capable of running Jellybean as it's not that much different from ICS.
26. networkdood (Posts: 6274; Member since: 31 Mar 2010)
the XT912 RAZR received 4.0.4 as promised - who really cares what MOTO does - just go to XDA and get JB.

I wish you Motoheads good luck, especially those on VZW. I'm happier now with my Galaxy S III. Sonit Puni is a great guy, but you're at the "mercy" of the carriers...

trust me the bionic and droid 4 wont be getting jb!

FU Motorola... I can wait to move away from my Atrix... I wish I hadnt have my SGS3 Stolen... Oh Well... Sony Acro S... Here I come... and then... US PadFone 2
31. kingjr243 (Posts: 31; Member since: 06 Jun 2011)
How long it took them to update the bionic i don't have my fingers crossed and I'm not holding my breath.
33. BattleBrat (Posts: 1100; Member since: 26 Oct 2011)
Hmmm I'm still using my RAZR (not MAXX), it is still my primary phone, I was going to buy an HTC DNA,but I had an archos tablet I intended to use for school, but the touch screen is not accurate enough to use for word processing (yeah, I calibrated it!) So I'm buying a Sony Xperia Tablet S, and I'm stuck with my RAZR for longer, don't mind though, the honeymoon never ended, I LOVE this phone!

i was highly upset, i had my Atrix 4G for a year and a half, and the only reason i kept it for so long was that they announced an upgrade to it. then when i heard it was gone, i flipped out. they are lucky my atrix broke and i had to replace it with the Atrix HD, cuz im losing interest in Motorola and if i dont get this update soon to my Atrix HD, im using my next upgrade for a Samsung, and never going back.
37. molanjames (Posts: 64; Member since: 11 Oct 2012)
Doesn't it seem strange that Moto is upgrading the original Xoom to 4.1, but the Xyboard / Xoom 2 is stuck on ICS?
40. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5620; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
it's not stuck on ICS, there's just no JB time frame for them yet.
