What about owners of the Droid Ultra, Maxx and Mini? Camera on those is supposed to be the same as on the X.

Update: It appears the app is compatible with the new Droids (at least the Maxx). I was able to download and install the app on my Maxx (Yay!!!). I will try it out during the day to check out the improvements.

Props to Moto for really stepping up their game!

The play store has the update for the Droid Ultra and other new Droid models. It works on my Ultra and has no problems whatsoever.

Didn't use the apk file that was posted since Google notified me that I had an update waiting for it.

I got the update, but I didn't get the new features, just the new icon. Inside the app is exactly the same.

As an owner of the Moto X I gotta say that I love this. I have gotten so many updates that would have taken months otherwise. Motorola has gotten a lifelong customer with the way they have handled this phone.

Hmmm what other apps are there left to be decoupled from the system? Launcher is one of them

I think that on kitkat, google put the launcher code into the seach app, so it´s like they decoupled it.

Come to think of it, I wish every manufacturer decouple their proprietary apps. Can you imagine being able to install the Walkman app one all of your devices?

I think that is very unlikely to happen, OEMs use its apps to diferentiate them from the competition,

It's more likely that they decouple those apps but restrict the download just to their device brand.

Ya nice they can do this but there launch of the Moto g in the US is a complete joke and there so called "service" levels outsourced & of course horrendous. I would warn anyone against ordering a g from moto directly & yes Im aware of the storm which I fully understand but they are turning a couple day storm into a couple weeks disaster. Your much better off ordering from Amazon if your thinking of picking one up.

why can't other manufactures too update their apps through play store rather then waiting for next rom update -.-
