Motorola prepares more than 20 smartphones for 2010
The Motorola DROID, manufacturer´s first handset to run Android version 2.0 got announced by Motorola and Verizon yesterday. We reported directly from the event, showed you pictures and presented you with our hands-on review of the device. Aside from the official announcement of the handset, however, one more interesting thing happened. CEO of Motorola, Sanjay Jha stated the company planned to release at least 20 smartphones in 2010 alone. Unfortunately, the high-ranking executive didn´t mention what operating system these would be based on. Assuming the previous information we have about Motorola´s decision to pass on WM6.5 and wait for Windows Mobile 7 is true, we guess they will run Android.

Or maybe they'll make the new Voyager! That was supposed to compete with the iPhone too!

The "new" Voyager is the enV Touch. Plantronics had a copyright on the name "Voyager."

LOL.... I remember the stupid VZW commercials trying to say the voyager and the original LG Chocolate were iPhone direct competitors.... From a technical stand point that is like putting up a Power Wheel and remove control car to a SUV.... Good times... "VOYAGER II WILL KILL THE IPHONE! JUST LIKE THE FIRST ONE.... did?? LOL, what crappy marketing people.

I work for VZW, and I know this. I was just commenting on how silly it is to push everything as a direct competition to the iPhone.

iphone iphone. Does some knucklehead always have to bring that up when a new phone comes out. I wonder if iphone apple heads scour the Internet worried that their phone is not gonna be the best any more. So wrapped up in a name. Its the first none business orented smartdumphone. What i dont get is windows can suck cause well it can get slow and bogged down, is that it amazines me that there are not phones by now that have duel and quad core processers( duel core is available) and have more dedicated memmory for just the programs. With more built in storage. They dont have to be 3.5gh processors and 1gb of dedicated memmory and blah blah but fast enough on battery power and super fast when plugged in. One thing that ruins a phone for me is one with great specs and still runs like a turd becaus ther is one laging componate thats sub par. Like my computer which lets say i put the best motherboard and processor well best every thing. and only have a tiny vedio memmory card and 512mb of ram. Well its going to be a lousy computer

Exactly!!!! THANK YOU PHIL! I agree that there is no reason that phones don't exploit more power. Like HTC putting 1GHz snapdragon processors wouldn't mean jack if they don't have 3D video cards or enough ram. The HD2 seems like the first phone to take advantage of everything to make it actually work, and it is about time. So now that HTC set a new standard (that should have been set 1 year ago at least), I will not settle for anything less. I am holding out for the HD2 or something similar/competive. So my Vogue will do for now.
