Motorola hints that the camera on the Motorola Moto X will have a fast shutter speed
0. phoneArena 14 Jul 2013, 22:41 posted on
Last week we broke the story about a leaked Verizon road map which revealed an August 23rd launch date for the Motorola Moto X; with slightly more than 5 weeks left until that date, a Rogers video leaked on on Sunday, showing the phone in action. Another video leaked on Sunday showing a CPU test for the Moto X, running on the AT&T network...

Well, there is more to camera quality than just fast shutter speeds. Kind of like how there is more to pic quality than just high Mp density. Proof is in the pudding.

"either this kid is really fast, or today's phones are really slow"
the photos shown don't match with this statement. those blurs are not from the kid's movements. they could be from the shaky hands that hold the phone/camera, stupid focus, or from a photoshop-induced blur.
either the motorolla twitter manager is stupid or they just don't know what they're doing.

if it were shaky hands the entire photo would be blurred. bout the only one that is is the top right one.
I doubt anything will match the nokia camera if ever but that doesn't mean others can't improve their own stuff either.

They aren't pictures taken with the Moto X. They're probably showing pictures taken with a 'generic' camera.
It's basically a hint saying the Moto X will be able to take pictures of motion with minimal blurring. Did you seriously think these pictures are from the Moto X..?

the background is steady, so it can't be camera shake, it's not focus either (anyone with a little of experience can tell bad focus from subject movement).

the number of megapixels doesn't make a camera great, it just makes the camera sound high and mighty . . . .

Moto X camera will be on par with the GS4, HTC One, and iPhone 5.
But the real game changers will be the EOS and Nikon branded lenses.

Stop the press. The least worthwhile expenditure of $500,000,000 dollars worth of advertising will make up for it's also-ran fourth- (or fifth if LG steps up on the Optimus G2) on the top-of-the-line phone selection this fall specs by having a camera that it's HINTED at to have a faster shutter speed? Whoa.

This is all speculation and rumors. Nothing is concrete.

iPhone 5 has a great camera with 8 MP, so Moto X should be better or should be on par with its competitors.

this is a fail link post from motorola.
if you send links you want to show the strength of the product not the weaknesses

Looks like any indoor pic I try to take of my kids. If the X can deliver a camera that can take quality indoor shots and be as close to stock android that Verizon will ever see again, then I'm looking at my new phone.

Sounds promising if they're talking about actually talking about shutter speed.
Increasing shutter speed will require either a larger aperture or faster iso (or a combination of both) to maintain a proper exposure, which bodes well for the camera specs. This would also mean it should have pretty decent low light performance...
...or it could mean that it will have a really, really bright flash....
