Motorola XOOM WiFi Android 4.0.4 update leaks with detailed improvements
A few days ago we caught word that the WiFi only version of the Motorola XOOM would be getting the bump to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich sometime soon, based on the fact that Motorola was starting up a soak test to find any potential bugs in the update. Now, it looks like the update has leaked out.

According to the xda post, this is the official OTA update from IML77 (4.0.3) to IMM76 (4.0.4) for the WiFi only XOOM (codename wingray), although given that Motorola just started up the soak test, we're not sure this is actually the real update. So far, the update does seem to be working pretty well for users. Updating using this file only works with stock recovery, so don't try if you're running ClockworkMod.

Expected improvements in this update include: faster screen rotation, a new setting to choose whether the power button immediately locks the device or not, Microsoft Exchange improvements with additional EAS policies, better phone number recognition, camera and image quality improvements, and improved stability.

If you're interested, you can grab the zip from the xda forum post here.

Any update is good news, it shows Google is always trying to improve on their Android OS

Stock ICS should have been on the Xoom ages ago..

Effing Motorola need to pull the finger out of their a55es and get this happening world wide, as well as ALL 3G devices.

Hopefully the Face Unlock feature is present

I think everyone with the xoom wifi was content with 4.0.3

Motorola needs to focus on getting ics on their other 30 devices instead of spending their time on almost pointless updates.

ICS on the Xoom 3G US & EU would be nice for a start...
