The eagerly awaited Motorola X is now rumored to be introduced in May at Google I/O and will actually launch on July 8th for $299 on contract; the phone will also be made available at the Google Play Store priced without a contract similar to the how the Google Nexus 4 is sold; the Motorola X is expected to launch with Key Lime Pie installed...

People hate Apple but idk how people don't hate Verizon. $15 a month to have your personal device fully open to you? And that's on top of your already high bill!

Yeah, I have smoking fast unlimited LTE no matter where I go, man I hate Verizon.

Verizon is useless. Always will be.

For you it may be, for others its great!
Why is it useless....?
69. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4273; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
It isn't useless. They have the best service in the U.S as a whole. Though I use T-Mo, and it is better in my area than Verizon (I get 10-15 Mbps down in my area while Verizon is on 3G), Verizon is better when comparing the entire U.S.
You get what you pay for with Verizon, the biggest network. AT&T you get good service but get raped with prices; Sprint you get low prices with crappy service to match; Verizon you get high prices but the best service; T-Mobile you get good service with low prices. Though it all depends on your area, and in my area T-Mobile rules.
I just think they are a bit gaudy with their branding (Note II). And their updates suck.

Agree, +1, I use T-Mobile with totally unlimited texts and calls, and paying £25 and also using o2 same unlimited, which I pay £20, what a bargain!

Verizon could be great, if they weren't so greedy
79. androiddownsouth (Posts: 598; Member since: 02 May 2012)
Wow really? Verizon is the largest carrier in the US, so your claim that Verizon is useless is completely ridiculous. But, then again, it is you, so not sure I'd expect anything different.

before Sprint changed it policy for late bills....Verizon always...always worked with me on late payments. EVen billing phones to my account. I was always allowed to take longer to pay off the phone.
Sprint....your old stomping grounds...would cut you off the next day. Verizon might be alot of things....some good, some bad...but one of them isnt useless. Coverage....customer service in my case anyway.....reliability. That doesnt say useless to me.

well i know one thing for sure, i'll be buying it through Google. selling my MAXX HD should still cover most of the cost of buying it outright by then if Google decides to sell it for a lot which i doubt they will because Google won't expect much to begin with and will likely continue with the trend of selling inexpensively.
36. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4273; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
I wouldn't mind paying $700-800 outright as long as it brought the new generation of specs, or even if it had last years quad S4 Pro (which is still a pretty badass chip). But, if Google did hold true to their usual pricing, I would just consider it a double win.

I would love to own a, or this phone cause of the keyboard, the last Moto I still have is the RAZR, which I bought for cheap from a guy who needed cash badly, and sold it for £100, what a bargain, but really like the phone™

well damn, you sir will probably be the proud owner of a Motorola X as soon as it's available huh? xD
i'd at least expect it to have a S4 Pro, they've got to justify it's place in Verizon's line-up which already has the Droid Razr MAXX HD which is just 1 step away from S4 Pro with it's S4 and the $200 Droid DNA which already has a S4 Pro.
this is the very LEAST that i would expect from the X.
S4 Pro w/ 2GB of RAM
5.0" 720p edge-to-edge display being either SA+ or a new Colorboost display (perhaps 1080p resolution for the latter variant)
aluminum kevlar & water repellent nano coating are naturally along for the ride.
improved 8MP camera
that's the least i expect.
now as far as availability i would imagine there will be a Pentaband version for international markets and an LTE variant for all major US carriers including T-Mobile.

Day one, man. If it's everything I expect it to be, I will have this as soon as it's available (I might wait to see if there are any big software bugs though). My GS2 is getting old, and Nova Launcher can only do so much. I had to go back to stock software since CM10 kinda killed my phone a month back, just one day I woke up and it was off, and it never turned back on. Got it replaced and didn't try to get CM10 back.
Motorola needs to put in the S4 Pro at least. With the DNA at $200 on Verizon, selling the Razr X (that's what I want it to be called) at $300 with any less than an S4 Pro would be very difficult.
I haven't heard of a Colorboost display for a while. They only put it on 2 devices to my knowledge, the Photon Q and Atrix HD. I've never actually seen one before either, though I heard good things about it. However, if they went with S-AMOLED, I'd doubt it would be 1080p since Samsung wants to save that for its GS4. I would rather have a 5" 1080p S-LCD3 or Colorboost than a 720p AMOLED, since 720p at that size brings it below that 300 ppi mark.
About the camera, Sniggly said he has Motorola rep who told him that since the Apple/Sony camera deal is over, Sony's camera tech might be in the Razr X. But he wasn't sure how valid it was, so take it with a grain of salt.
I imagine the version sold at Google Play would be pentaband, and have support for T-Mobile's upcoming LTE network (like the Nexus 4).
This is so exciting! I haven't been this interested in the release of a phone ever lol, and with the possibility that a Nexus 10 with a beefed up GPU would be announced along with it just makes it even better. Google I/O can't come soon enough.

AOKP is much better than CM10, using it on S3, must say its the best JB 4.1.2 out there, even let's you over clock the GPU to max 700ghz and CPU to 1.8Ghz, and the American version is a immense at 2.1Ghz!
But if you're S2 switched of, you are ment to use Odin, and flash back to stock recovery, then flash. There's ROM manager that I use, and Linux commands and emulators.

I just love every word you're saying about this new device. As long as I could use it on T-Mo, I think I might be parting with my One X sooner than I think.
92. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4273; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
According to the rumor it will be sold on multiple carriers (T-Mo probably included), and be sold in the Play store. So even if T-Mo isn't included in the carriers that get it, you can always get it unlocked and it will work on T-Mo since it will of course be pentaband.

See... now that's music to my ears....
20. GoBears (Posts: 448; Member since: 27 Apr 2012)
I'll worry about it when it's actually announced. All speculation at this point anyway lol. It's gonna take a helluva device to pry my NoteII out of my hands.
21. jroc74 (Posts: 5986; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
Ok....interesting news....if its edge to edge....hopefully they can keep the shell of the phone arund the size of the GS3. I dont think I can get used to these bigger phones...

As long as there is NO VERIZON EXCLUSIVE DEAL this will offer choice to people on all carriers. As for Motorola not even Google will be able to help them sur plant Samsung and there products. I plan on purchasing the Galaxy S4 early in 2013 then the Galaxy Note 3 later this year in Oct or Nov. I doubt very seriously anything Motorola makes will top Samsung. Placing it on all carriers is a great idea just don't let anyone destroy your brand especially NO carrier. .
44. jroc74 (Posts: 5986; Member since: 30 Dec 2010)
Why does it have to stop or top Samsung or anybody? What is it with this me against the world mentality some of you fanboys have?? Over the past few years you have went from a Sprint, EVO fanboy to whoever will take your money fanboy.
At some point....I would think you would realize all the fanboyism is a waste of time.

Just a scrub that wants everyone to know he has a GS3 and it makes him a better person than everyone else.
Just like the scrubs that have iPhones and think that makes them a better person than everyone else.
Just like the scrubs that have Verizon and think that makes them a better person than everyone else.

I have Verizon...but I dont think its makes me better....lol. Its just better for me right now. Actually...AT&T might have better reception where I live n work now. Sprint and T Mo suck for me tho.

"The phone will come with a locked bootloader via Big Red, although you can get it unlocked at a price of $15 a month" is most likely a misprint. Verizon offers no such service as unlocking devices for a monthly fee. PA might have meant that you can get it unlocked for a flat fee of $15.

Why in the hell would i pay verizon 15 dollars a month to have MY phone like i want it to? WTH is that
73. Wasserman (Posts: 1; Member since: 21 Jan 2013)
I'm convinced, the only people who hate Verizon are the people who can't afford their service, and their employees.
