Motorola RAZR HD with model number MT887 is spotted in China with a 720p display and ICS

0. phoneArena 24 Apr 2012, 14:42 posted on

This time, however, we’re seeing a couple of images emanating from China, which shows one blurry image of the device in question bearing the model number MT887. In addition to that, its 4.0.3 build number matches the one spotted in the leaked EXIF data posted by that Motorola...

Again, like I've said before; If this comes out, it might be similar to the Droid Razr(s) mentioned in this article

Just like the Xtreme 2 in China, got a cpu speed boost and a larger screen to boot. I wonder why Moto always brings the big guns outside of the US, like seriously what is the point of giving your home field so so handsets and giving the rest of the world the awesomesauce?

Looks like Motorola's finally stepping up its game. Well played, Motorola.

> Looks like Motorola's finally stepping up its game.

For users in mainland China. Motorola continues to sell the same product with INFERIOR spec's to their US consumers.

You wonder when the US android Motorola users will step up and complain about the unfair treatment.

So Motorola selling good products in China but not in the U.S. is "unfair treatment?" I'm pretty sure they are perfectly justified in selling whichever product wherever they want.

Dual-core processor + Super AmoLED advanced + 1Gig RAM = Inferior specs?

You must be joking.

Even if we receive a US variant of this device, we won't be seeing this till possibly late May or June. Sometimes I worry about Verizon's PR image. Everyone hypes up their new high-end/flagship phones and puts on a nice little show or keynote to keep customers glued. Verizon just announces new products either the day before or same day hoping you have the cash to order.

I kind of deviated from the article so I"ll just put this here:

When the Droid Bionic's price drops once again, keep on the lookout.

Okay, Google has set the stage. The next Nexus will be the RAZR Nexus Maxx and it will have a Samsung made display with similar size and technology as the Galaxy S3 and a 3500 mAh battery. That's the poop from my sources!!

Has anyone here not thought outside the box just yet? Jesus, man. I mean listen to what they are saying. It's a phone for CHINA! Not America. You know what this means? All these companies cater to the rest of the world first and then we get leftovers. WTF bro? I shell out my money just like everyone else. So why should anyone get hyped up about this phone? Listen, you can think what you want and say what you want but this is a perfect example of a line of phones called:

The Motorola Droid Afterthought because that's exactly what I'll call it because that's exactly what it is.

dude, you're just a flaming troll and i'm getting pretty sick of you. this phone is indicative that Motorola is likely working on a similar device for the states which becomes even more likely with the rest of the evidence out there. that's not what happens at all. Verizon always gets versions of what the international markets get later. it's been like that since the original Droid.

KingKurogiii, your reply was w-e-a-k. Even a sixth grader could come up with a better rebuttal.

As for the Motorola Droid Razr, you have US motorola sheep that will take anything from Moto as opposed to demanding the best.

If anything "the phone" is indicative of how Motorola continues to screw its US base. Perhaps, it's time Motorola stop screwing its US base.

oh? just what more should i have said then?
i said what was necessary.

so just what is the best to you? you may not realize this but Motorola is the best in some very important aspects such as wireless radio reception and build quality not to mention that they don't fill their line-up with Crapdragon powered devices. they use the best silicons that are made available to them for their phones and tablets.

that's a bold statement considering we know very little about the phone. while Moto may have made some questionable business maneuvers lately it really doesn't matter enough to have a call to arms about it. most people are very happy with their original Droid Razrs including me and i'm sure a lot of people here would tell you the same thing.

Apparently you didn't see the articles about Moto going to the S4 for their CPU. It even sounds like the S4 might be the CPU for the Razr HD, so Qualcomm must be doing something right. Just do a search for Motorola snapdragon if you don't believe me.

well in this case the S4 is a viable choice being that we're beyond the OMAP4's Prime and we don't have any OMAP5's yet.

I agree with you KingKurogiii. Motorola is like the best when it comes to phones so far, i mean they never trade out 4G like some brands with quadcore, it's like one phone with just different radios. I hate how different brands release a phone and then the U.S. gets it long 3 months later. Motorola is way better with that. And they have a very solid useer interface not to customizable but not glitchy.

no. you just wait for the Verizon variant and there might even be AT&T and Sprint variants in the form of the Atrix 3 and the Photon Q 4G LTE both of which have already been rumored for releases soon.

I have said it so many times before lol. First the Droid X2, then Bionic, then RAZR, then RAZR MAXX, and now this. All within about a year's time frame. Come on Motorola! I don't mind if you release multiple devices but when they are all extremely similar in size and specs with just some minor changes, it's just silly. When the Droid Maxx gets ICS, the only thing that will be any different is basically the higher screen resolution.

the camera, processor and possibly screen size is getting a boost too.
the only things i think Moto has done wrong is release the X2 at all, delaying the Bionic for as long as they did and not releasing the MAXX alongside the Razr.

New camera and processor? Hmm well that is a good boost, I was just thinking they were going to make it slightly larger in size and up the screen resolution. Which normally isnt a bad thing but considering the RAZR and MAXX both just came out not too long ago its too soon lol.

Now Verizon needs to get their crap together and come out with a S4 Galaxy Note.

yeah, the camera is supposed to be using a 5mm f/2.4 aperture lens and as for the processor i've heard it to be a 1.8GHz OMAP4470 or it could be a 4th generation Snapdragon.
