Motorola: No July 11th event was ever planned
What if everyone came to a media event that never existed? Everyone had expected Motorola to hold an event on July 11th, but on Monday the company said that there is no event. Which of course, means that we will not be hearing more about the Motorola Moto X, the Motorola DROID Ultra, the Motorola DROID Ultra MAXX and the Motorola DROID Ultra M this Thursday. That confirms earlier information we passed along to you on Sunday that said that there would be no Moto X unveiling on Thursday.

The July 11th rumor started with a picture from the full-page ad that Motorola ran for the Moto X. The picture showed two people jumping into water with their bodies shaped like the roman numerals X and I which equals 11. We also imagine that the image could be Nexus related since the Nexus logo uses an X. It could have to do with the Motorola Moto X, not hard to believe considering the X in the device's name. Or, it could be nothing, just a strange coincidence and we're all looking too much into it.

But blogger Leo Laporte had said that Motorola was holding a private event for "50 or so press members." That too has been shot down. What is happening is a little get together for Motorola's Guy Kawaksaki and his friends. There will be no product announcement coming this week from Motorola. But considering the number of leaks we've seen about Motorola just in the last few days, some product announcements are sure to taking place soon.
