Cue the sad trombone tune on your soundboard apps now, folks, as the teaser on Motorola's Facebook page isn't about the DROID RAZR HD. Therefore, the highly anticipated smartphone won't be unveiled on Friday as we hoped after noticing the teaser yesterday. Instead, the marketing trick is about a phone that we are familiar with already...

it's a game they do on Facebook. Companies do silly things like this on their Facebook Pages because they have to continuously come up with new ways to market their merch without being repetitive. like Movie Pages for instance, they post pictures of scenes in their movie with quotes from the scenes so much that you could make a completely illustrated book of the whole movie from all the pictures they post in 3 months.

FYI: Verizon releases new phones on Thursdays, not Fridays; not Mondays; not Tuesdays; not Wednesdays; not Saturdays or Sundays. Thursdays!!

Razr HD will be a fall to holiday release on Verizon. They are waiting for the holidays to start releasing their high end smartphones.

nahhh, i doubt it. i think Verizon will want this out before the new iPhone comes out. i think HTC, Apple and whoever does the next Nexus will cover Verizon's Holiday line-up and then of course the Razr HD but it'll come soon, possibly with the Note II in tow.
