I call my atrix on "atrix on steroids"(mainly because the 1ghz acts faster than it the should for me) answer now for this one idle. No LTE but its super, if it gets a 1.5 ti-omap processor. Bye bye sg2

Hate to burst your bubble, but that processor is already proven to be slower than the exynos.

Hate to burst another bubble, but there are plenty of clone phones with dual-core 1.5ghz upcoming/already available. this is just going to be another clone phone with nothing special whatsoever(except the surprising lack of LTE)

This phone barely trumps the last one. Why release a whole new model when it's .2 or .5ghz faster per core with a lil better resolution, or a lil more storage, or 1080p vid recording vs 720p. All things you wouldn't even really notice if you had one vs the other in real world use?!

and better camera, 5mp vs 8mp, its just like the droid series, thats why they keep the name, they are supposed to be related...

I still don't see the point, but hey, it still sounds like a good phone.

look next to the signal strength indicator, it has a 4g symbol, not the H+ symbol, like all HSPA+(HSDPA+) devices. maybe this is there 4g lte symbol for smarthphones, or a new H+ symbol. I have a feeling its LTE. If you look at the leaked pictures of the holiday which is supose to be a LTE device, it has the same 4g logo next to the signal strength indicator, it look blurry, but if you focus they look the same.
Here is a link to the holiday leaked photos:

Now, does this mean the end of life for the Atrix, or will the Atrix and the Atrix 2 be side by side on the sales display? I really think it is good marketing to have a high end 4" touchscreen option for those who are not in love with bigger screens. Most consumers do want 4.3" or larger, but there is still a large segment the Atrix could appeal to. What other option is there for the smaller screen public?

it makes no sense at all. there's improvements here in the form of the OMAP4 processor and with it likely the newer, more refined version of the Application's Platform but without LTE it's not worth putting on the shelves next to the OG Atrix. no buy.

Dammit I really want this phone but I cant afford it when it comes out, so im gonna have to get the atrix right when its outdated =( I think I should wait until Christmas but thats too long, my upgrade was last weekend and my family is bugging me to get a phone now... I want this phone!!!!!
16. Thump3rDX17 posted on 20 Sep 2011, 17:32 1 1
from what we know the Atrix isn't even outdated compared to the Atrix 2, i'd probably get the Atrix because it'd be cheaper and it has better dev support.

better camera, faster processor, larger screen(which idc about), 1080p hd vs 720 hd recording... For the price id get the atrix but Id get this phone if I could afford.

If I were in your situation I would go grab an Atrix asap. I know that I will not be upset at all when the next one comes out. Other than the so called better camera, there's really not that much to get excited about. I've had mine since March, it has never failed me in any way, and smokes any phone that dares to step up for comparison. be sure to hit the XDA forums as soon as you get it and read, read, read BEFORE you perform any updates. It's a great phone. But Motorola has mucked up the bootloader thing and there is more than one way to update depending on what you plan to do with your phone. Just be certain before playing with RSD lite that you aren't doing something that will perma-brick it. You could pave a main street with the amount of bricks caused by folks jumping in without research. Good luck, and hurry! Go get your phone!

Wouldn't this phone have a Tegra 2 processor? I don't see why Motorola would change to an OMAP when their late phones are all Tegra 2 based. LG's got a 1.5GHz Tegra 2 coming out soon LG LU6200 (although only rumoured to be 1.5GHz at this stage) so I'd imagine Motorola could come out with a 1.5GHz as well.
23. superguy posted on 20 Sep 2011, 20:55 1 0
The Bionic has an OMAP.
If indeed this phone does have LTE, there have been issues with Tegras and LTE. That's why the Bionic design was scrapped and redesigned with the OMAP.

Part 1, Root your atrix than Install a Custom rom that has 1080p video recording enabled considering Motorola is taking their sweet time enabling a feature that the normal Atrix could do out of the box. Number two you can actually OC the Atrix to 1.3ghz so yea after that this 2nd one is pretty pointless. Just my two cents.

Agree 100%. Stock gingerbread ROM....rooted.......1.3 Ghz kernel.....1080p Mod.....free tether app........no use for part deux
