Yeehaw. That would be about the same timetable as the one the original X was on for Froyo.
Good job, Motorola.

Yes, good job Motorola pushing out an update that has been available for months. Oh yeah, especially when ICS is right around the damn corner.

it's not the same Gingerbread as the Droid X Miz, it's the one that Motorola spent those months improving upon further to make real use of it's dual-core power like what launched with the Droid 3 just a few weeks ago.

A hard personification of the word, excuse. They could've saved the DX2 and spent time preparing GB and released it then, but then again, this is Mototrolla.

You apparently don't know much about software or programming.
Btw, perfect opportunity to tell you this: I just got an Atrix and updated it to Gingerbread. Know what I was able to do without rooting? That's right, bloatware UNINSTALLED. :P

Like you do, the one who apparently thought RAM and hard drive memory were the same thing.
You know what I'm able to do with my phone - sideload apps off anywhere I choose unlike AT&T telling you who to get apps from and capping your data.
Now how do you like them apples, Sniggles?
12. Sniggly posted on 27 Jul 2011, 10:28 0 0
Wait, so I'll never be able to sideload appear?
Lol, wrong again.
Also, the only carrier that doesn't cap high speed data anymore is Sprint, which has s**tty coverage around here. T-Mobile doesn't charge overage, but they don't get coverage in some critical spots. AT&T is capped, but at least they're cheaper than Verizon Wireless, which also caps its data now. So what were you trying to prove there?
Now, as for my knowledge on computers, I made a semantic error by referring to flash memory as a hard drive; I wasn't wholly incorrect, because flash memory on a phone performs the same exact function as a hard drive. I know the difference between RAM and flash memory/hard drives perfectly well, thank you very much.
However, you obviously have memory problems, since you're unable to remember simple facts like that. Good job.

LMAO!!! You realize you can't really do much with rooting since AT&T still has somewhat of a restriction? Try again, Siggy. And wow, $5 is soo cheaper. Verizon has better coverage and network, course you're the one who has a Motorola phone and lord knows they are horrible.
Lol, yeah right. Some semantic error, and it looks like you're trying to backpedal there.

Does anybody know when Verizon/Motorora is going to fix the issue with the Motorola droid X update? Because I have a friend that recetly updated his phone to Gingerbread and it kinda bricked his phone. His phoenwas working perfect before the update.

Still haven't received this update. Tech support seems unaware that a gingerbread for the x2 was even released.

even after the announcement it'll still take up to a couple of days for the update to get to everybody, please be patient.

Or it could just be a leak, like with Gingerbread for the original X.

VZW X2, I have had the same issue and I pored over the Verizon Wireless website today to see if there were any clues there. If you go to the support page and input the DroidX2 as the device it shows that there is an available software update. The version the phone comes shipped with is 1.2.148, and the new update is 1.3.232. I called VZ and their tech support guy had the same answer as you found earlier...he didn't even know. I don't want to call them a bunch of idiots, but there must have been a serious communication issue or some major oversight on someones part...

I have not been able to get the update on my droid x2 as of wednesday (7/27). Is this a manual update or what?
