0. phoneArena 20 May 2011, 14:00 posted on

Holding onto the handset for the first time, we’re not filled with the same feelings we had when we first encountered the original Motorola DROID X – that’s because its design is identical to the teeth. Strangely enough...

If not for lack of LTE I'd be more giddy for this phone.

DX2 is faster, changes screens smoother, better Rez than the DX. DOn't 4G since it won't be available here until well after the Bionic3 or 4 or 5!

Its a really good phone and I think will be worth it when it goes on sale. It's the only dual core phone out for Verizon right now so that's its best feature. No LTE and front face camera hurt it though of course. Especially when it's only $50 more for the Thunderbolt and the Revolution (when it comes out next week or so).

In the end at it's current price it's not worth it, $149 and i think it would sell a hell of a lot more

Why should VZW charge the same for their great network as Sprint does for it's crappy one? This is one case where paying $10 more a month is definitely worth it.

There is also a minor curve up on back of the phone at the bottom.

Bionic... its been scrapped. 4g,3g,2g chips didnt get along to well and power consumption was nuts. The Moto "tegra" was the Bionic, not it will be the Moto "etna". I could have that backwards. I dont care enough to make sure.

but you cared enough to actually post wrong information in the first place?

if you so concerned about getting the info out there why not take the extra minute to make sure you arent going to end up looking stupid?

The ETNA was the original Bionic.....it has been deep sixed
The TARGA (not tergra) is going to be the new Bioinc

hope this helps you next time from looking like a moron (oh I forgot....you want to come off as "cool" so you simply state you don't care enough)

The only point of that post was to say the orig has been scrapped.

Talking about trying to look cool, whos the pathetic one useing phonearena to take an opportunity to 1up someone...

Anyways, i knew a tool would come around and fix it if i was wrong. Thank you:)

@StillStuckWith Droid - the most hilarious thing about your post is that as you try to mimic G-Reg's incorrect spelling, you actually spelled it wrong. lol. what a dirt bag.

wow...I see your still a little bitter from the beating you took from me in the Charge thread. Does this constitute cyber stalking....should I start making sure my recycle bin is empty before you start rooting around in it?

BTW....I did "check it out myself" and my comment stands.....the Charge is a sub standard device which lags right out of the box.

Its called making sure you know what your talking about before typing. I have no idea why people don't take responsibility for what they put out there. If you want to add to a discussion, why not at least try and take a moment to get your facts straight. I swear the younger generation is by far the laziest in history when it comes to personal responsibility in this area.

You're making yourself look terrible, my friend. So is G-Reg, but he doesn't have as much contempt as you do. Who cares who's right? Does it really matter to you? Just correct him for whoever's reading and move on.

I laugh when you say the younger generation is by far the laziest in history. Those are some pretty absolute descriptions... they're not just the laziest, they're BY FAR the laziest, based on... what criteria? I'm somewhat offended by the comment to begin with - not just because you're generalizing a whole generation in one sentence, but because I'm part of this generation and I don't meet your criteria. Go troll somewhere else.

By the way, the Charge is a great device. Not worth $300, but if you get it from Amazon for $200, it's worth every penny and more. I sell them every day, and no one has complained. I don't even have 4G in my area! Life is good.

The Bionic is coming out in Q3, I've heard late September-mid-November. Moto is apprently redoing how it feels in the hand and the chips work together. The Tegra 2 is the Bionic, and the Etna was what they were calling the Tegra 2. :)

If rumors are true that the Droid 3 is coming out in June, that is the phone I will get. I have the first Droid x running 2.3.3 and it runs great. I just got the XOOM so I am not too concerned with having a larger screen anymore on my cell phone. Having a 4 inch qhd display and slide out keyboard sounds great as I get sick of typing on the touch screen all the time. Fine when it comes to texting but sometimes you just want the keyboard available. Having dual core is a nice plus too and it's also stated that the Droid 3 will not have LTE(which in my situation is a good thing) There is no LTE and won't be for a year or more in my area. So I am not concerned about having 4G speeds and I am not going to drive to Detroit just to get them lol.

You are a scholar and a gentleman, Rory. I respect your choice. I'm living in St.Louis now, so LTE is on the table for me, hence my consideration of the Bionic. And if I get the Job I want I'll be able to afford it. :)

Thank you, hopefully you will be able to. I was also considering the Bionic as well. Maybe if Verizon throws a curve ball and my area gets LTE, I will pick one up myself.

Good luck job hunting Sniggly, and cheers to the Bionic.

I am stuck with Rory. LTE has an emphasis on the "L" and the "T" where I live, as in wayyyyy Long Term before we get 4G in my IL residence. (AT&T doesn't even have 3G in my town yet. Still get the "E" on my screen.) Since a move to Verizon is on the table for my wife and I, the "X2" is a real choice But I would like to see it come down a hair in price.

Very interested in reviews and user feedback.

I know right? I can completely understand why people who live in lte areas would be disappointed but its still nice to see they are coming out with good phones at reasonable prices for the rest of us.

I have been on the Bionic bandwagon myself. It seems to have everything I want but now with the news of the Samsung Function (Verizon Galaxy version) I may have to hold off and see.

Hell with Verizions track record right now on releasing devices we may actually see the Function BEFORE the Bionic.

that being said I am not jumping on one of these early 4G phones because each has a fatal flaw IMO.....they are all phones to clear out the impatient, burning pockets people before the real deals start coming out.

If the X2 had been 4G I would have bought one already though....but seeing as it is 3G....pass

Is the screen pentile like the Atrix?

Does it really do HDMI mirroring while playing a Tegra Zone game without lag?
