From what I was told, anyone whose upgrade eligibility date falls in the year 2010, you'll be able to upgrade now. So let's say that I'm still on-contract and don't get my eligibility until December 30, 2010, I'll be able to buy the phone when it comes out (July 15) and still only pay $199.99 for the price.

im a vz customer and been for yrs, i left att for better customer service and a better plan. att needed the iphone to survive, without it they would be dead last. i'm trying out the evo thru sprint and so far i like it the phone itself, the one price plan, the mobile (8) hotspots (unlimited) for an xtra $30, the android system, i might give vzw a break for a while.

CANNOT WAIT TILL JULY 15 FOR THIS PHONE TO COME OUT! Used to want the iPhone SO bad, but now I could care less! Love the Droid phones, especially Motorola! Didn't know it had swype till I just saw this video. Awesome! Currently have a Moto Droid and love it, but I also have an available upgrade to use (even tho I heard that VZW is letting anyone who has an upgrade in 2010 do an early upgrade to get this phone). WOW! Counting the days till July 15!

I hope that this phone does not get so backed up in orders like the Incredible is right now. I heard that the delay on the Incredible is something to do with the company that makes the screen not being able to put them out fast enough to keep up with the demand, but the rest of the phone was ready, just waiting on screens to be made. Not sure if that's true, but I will be at VZW on July 15 waiting in the parking lot for them to open. I get off work that morning at 7am. Does anyone know if they will be opening early that day like they did on the release day of the original Moto Droid?

It's not necessarily "so much better" but it is MUCH better in certain areas that mean a lot to certain types of customers. For instance, I am EXTREMELY excited about being able to output video/pictures to my high def tv via the HDMI out; but many customers would just scratch their head at why they'd want to do that with their phone. I'm also very excited about the fact that it's a Motorola phone NOT an HTC phone primarily because I do not like HTC Sense UI but mainly because i've had such good luck with my Moto Droid (I drop it all the time) I would like to stick with that brand. I have heard that even though they both have 1ghz processors, the actual chip in the Droid X is more efficient on battery life and actually better for processing graphics, although I don't know how much truth there is to that. The physical shape of the Motorola Droid is much more appealing (to me), I don't like how the Incredible's camera lens sticks out so that if you lay it on a flat surface, it could be easily scratched. I don't like how light and flimsy (again, personal opinion coming from someone with a Moto Droid) the Incredible feels and i'm expecting the Droid X to have a heavier more durable feel to it. What it comes down to is really not that the Droid X is just for a different type of person than the Incredible. Someone like myself, who does so much web browsing on my Moto Droid that I have to have a spare battery (and still drain both batteries every day) is going to LOVE the larger screen because it will make what I primarily use the phone for (web browsing) that much better. Someone who is not so interested in browsing the web may prefer the smaller profile (and assumably better battery life due to the smaller screen) of the Incredible. It's all personal preference...

I'm pretty sure you aren't responding to my post but I have absolutely no clue who you're talking to.

I was 100% with you on that until I actually used the on-screen keyboard for the Droid X, it's awesome.
