Bulky? This phone is as thin as they come. The screen is large, get over it tiny tim. if you have hands the size of an elf, its your problem. People have demanded for a large screen phone, and we are finally getting one. I'm so sick of all the 3.0 screens that are too damn small.

@RORYREVOLUTION: idk how you can't think this phone is bulky. Sure it is super thin but its still very large and will still take up all the space in your pocket if you can even find pockets big enough for this phone. I wanna like it but i can't get over the size. Its the perfect compromise if you want the ipad or a smartphone

Yeah, I actually kind of like this phone now too (it's still pretty big). I really like the panaromic picture thingy and the HDMI output. If the new iPhone 4 is going to have iMovie, then it should of had HDMI also. Hopefully Apple adds an iphone cable that is HDMI capable. But considering that Verizon is going to sell their cable for $50, I don't think Apple's would be much cheaper, so cross that off the list. NFL app is kind of pointless, I'm sure people would rather like to watch the games on the big screen with friends or something. But if you're not at home then I guess that would be useful. And I don't know why not just go with Netflix because blockbuster seems done now. I'm also glad that Apple didn't add a bump on the back of the iPhone 4 just to have 8 megapixels. And can someone explain to me the DLNA thing. Can you play videos from your phone onto the computer/tv wirelessly or only use the Droid X as a remote? Also is this DLNA thingy the EyeCon app that was in the Droid X commercial script?

I didn't make that up myself. Go over to Engadget and watch the video posted by them. I don't care enough to cripple the features of the Droid X. Like I said before, I really like the Droid X. But it doesn't pack in enough new features for me to even think it necessary to cripple features. You Android users are so uptight that you think everyone is out to get you http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/23/motorola-droid-x-first-official-hands-on-and-unboxing/

again, just conjecture by some guy from engadget guy in a random video? not a very reliable source. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2365609,00.asp $25 here. And droid X is a standard HDMI port so you can get cables easily for 5 bucks. where the iphone is missing the hdmi port, if they ever did create such an accesory, it would be proprietary (just like everything else apple $$$$$$$$$$$$$$)

Why does everyone who says that this phone is big gets a bunch of (-1)'s? Yeah this phone is big. Compare it to an average sized phone like a blackberry and this phone is massive. This is going to be a great phone but yes, it is still big! There is not way to say it isn't. To say this phone isn't big is like trying to gay Heidi Klum isn't hot.

Honestly, VERIZON is just slowing their churn rate to AT&T right now - smart move on their part. But killing AT&T, uhh, the latest figures show otherwise and with IPHONE 4 on the way, there will be records broken - even more so than with the Ipad.

VZW has had the lowest churn in the industry for 17 of the last 18 quarters. I wouldn't say that VZW is killing Att either but slowing the churn sounds like something we use to say about Sprint when they were about to go belly up. (Go come back Sprint)

If my wife was still with VERIZON, I would buy this phone and root it. I am just glad that AT&T has a decent android phone and is rootable now. This phone seems excellent - key is VERIZON is doing what AT&T allows its customer to do - accelerated upgrade eligibilty - I can seee less churn for VERIZON in 2010 due to their lineup of phones. In the past, VERIZON customer defected for the iphone because VERIZON had nothing to compare it with. Now, VERIZON has that and more. Great situation for a consumer when you have the top four networks, all with good to great phones. Let us hope the FCC does not screw things up....

It was Android's multitasking that killed the iPhone for power users. The iPhone is great for stupid people, of which there are many.

The iPhone is great for stupid people? Wow, whatever. But anyways Apple did really well with their multitasking. The only thing that can kill the iPhone's multitasking is if developers don't update their apps with the new APIs. Probably all apps from now on are going to be able to multitask, but its just those older ones that need software updates. Most utilities, social networking apps, etc will update pretty quickly. It's just the games that might take a little longer to work with iOS4 multitasking. And you guys have to remember that multitasking is not just fast app switching. I don't know why people keep saying/thinking that. With iOS4, you can play music in the background, upload stuff, download stuff, finish loading a web page, track your location and other gps services, make skype calls, etc. I've used Android phones plenty of times and don't see anything that's really missing from iphone. That covers just about everything you need multitasking to do. Is there a specific multitasking function that you would personally like to see on the iPhone?

The iPhone is good for stupid people, most iPhone users will readily admit they are not good with technology which is WHY they use the iPhone. Also, after reading many of your posts in the last few days E.N., are you Steve Jobs?

E N you know nothing of multi tasking on a IPhone then. Thats how a ANDROID works with multi tasking, but the IOS 4 doesnt work that way, not now and probably not ever.

"Is there a specific multitasking function that you would personally like to see on the iPhone?" eh i really don't want to see a iphone at least not in my hands. not that it isn't a good phone but well i can't pull a lefty with the new one :P and android just works better for me. (i'm a power user not one of the stupid people) I still wonder how ios works when it needs to support 50+ models like all other os types do. don't hate apple just think they got it easy in there position.

apple may have been the leader in technology back in 2007 or even 2008 but now there are much better devices out. and since apple makes very little changes to each gen iphone, sooner or later you will pick up an iphone and go, nextttt.

"We're not going to beat around the bush -- in our approximation, the iPhone 4 is the best smartphone on the market right now. The combination of gorgeous new hardware, that amazing display, upgraded cameras, and major improvements to the operating system make this an extremely formidable package. Yes, there are still pain points that we want to see Apple fix, and yes, there are some amazing alternatives to the iPhone 4 out there. But when it comes to the total package -- fit and finish in both software and hardware, performance, app selection, and all of the little details that make a device like this what it is -- we think it's the cream of the current crop." - Engadget Sorry dude, but iphone isn't going anywhere.

Cnet editor reviewing the iphone 4- "and keeping--a strong connection continues to be a challenge. Even in the first few moments testing the device, we had a dropped call, even though we had full bars. We also had a couple of calls that failed to connect in an area where we knew that AT&T reception is good"

Agreed! Same with Blackberry. I've got a ton of friends that I introduced to Blackberry about 2 years ago and now I have switched to Android and can't get them to budge. Granted I am a bit of tech geek, but actually so are a few of them and I still can't get them to budge! I was a little sad about leaving my BBM friends, but the TOTAL AWESOMENESS of the Android OS WAY outweighs anything BB is offering right now.......and by the looks of it, anything they have to offer in the future. (I was pulling for you RIM, but you are running way behind in the game at this point and I gotta catch up!) Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it's just the fact that they don't even realize how much better Android is than BB just because they won't let go of their BB's long enough to even give it a chance! C'mon people! Let's be just a little open-minded here. Anyway, it just irks me that the new technology coming out is so awesome and some people just refuse to let go of the old and embrace the new. Oh well, enough of my soapbox rantings. Their loss! I've gone Android for good and don't miss my BB at all. Can't wait to get my DROID X on July 15!
