Verizon has slashed the price of its flagship Motorola DROID X to $149.99 while Costco has the device for as low as $9.99 with a 2 year contract; at the same time, the DROID X will now come with a 2GB microSD card once all of the units with a 16GB pre-installed card are sold out...

The headline for this story is very misleading. The internal storage on the Droid X hasn't been cut, the external storage, via micro sd card, has been cut from 16GB to 2GB . The phone still comes with the 8GB of internal memory that it always has.

"Do you feel lucky?"
yeah because you could ask the rep to check the phones to see if any of the phones in stock have the 16 gb or the 2 gb card. It's a pain in the ass but they'd comply.
I sold 2 today that they were waiting on this price cut but they figured it'd be after the thunderbolt was released.

I wonder whether/if there is going to be a real Droid X2. From the specs, the Bionic would be a natural replacement for the Droid X. Maybe VZW is clearing out inventory of the Droid Xs and a price cut is a way to move the remaining inventory?
It is getting curiouser and curiouser....

This was a great phone until 2.2 was released for it. It became way too buggy and laggy, it was great at 2.1.

Hopefully verizon is just trying to clear its shelves for all these 4g phones that were released yesterday...

Oh, dual core powered system. That sounds nice. Perhaps I need to reconsider my budget. Thanks for mentioning that. I want to get seamless video streaming for my DISH Network employee Sling adapter. I can watch live or DVR recordings anywhere my service works and I LOVE it. I'm a TV junkie and I don't have enough time to just sit in front of the TV with a family and bringing work home.
