Motorola DROID X ad shows off Mobile 3G Hot Spot capabilties
A new ad for the Motorola DROID X has been released. The focus of the ad is the handset's ability to act as a Mobile 3G Hot Spot. For an extra $20 per month, Verizon will allow you to use your DROID X to hook up 5 additional devices to Verizon's 3G pipelines. In the ad, you see how the DROID X owner uses her device to connect her PC to the network. A little bit of a departure from other DROID ads we've seen, but still something a little out of the ordinary for a phone that is not a regular run-of-the-mill device.

droid does for the first half a day , they better do the multitasking the right way and don't waste the battery . "Droid does" , what a joke.

I get 12-14 hours of relatively heavy use out of my X every day, and pretty much the same on my Moto Droid for the first 8 months I had it, not sure what you're talking about... If you leave bluetooth/gps/wifi on all day then yes you are probably right.

yea , you're right but some people need a phone that Does , or maybe I got a POS droid.

what do you think the droid does what do you have caligula iphone pos

5. cc16177 posted on 29 Jul 2010, 17:56

The fact that it does it all is why it uses so much battery, buy a second battery.. at least you can.

Droid does KILL BATTERY FAST!, come with too much bs pre-installed, have an inferior app market! I cant even count how many times mine has been charged since switching monday.

well for a phone that does so much i think they get pretty good battery life

Ha Ha the iSheep are just dumb. I put iOS 4 on my iPod touch and it drains the battery just as fast, if not FASTER, than my X. I agree though, lots of bloatware that cant be uninstalled. Yes I know I can root it but I just dont think it needs it. As far as the markets, they both have tons of crap on them. Its just that Apple's market has tens of thousands MORE crappy apps than Android. Droid X f$%cking awesome....iPhone/pod just plain f$#cked.

You are doing something wrong, plain and simple. I wonder if you are interested in resolving the issue or if you just want to bitch about it online...

Only GPS drains my Droid...everything else - multiple applications runnin includin bluetooth i get a day and a half.

Is there a better way now to save battery than using the "Advanced task killer" app? I put that little green shortcut on every screen since I use it so much. I also use the" multi function switch" widgit. What else is there?

20. cc16177 posted on 30 Jul 2010, 09:49

Advanced task killer DOES NOT help your battery life unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing. I don't care what anyone says if they tell you differently they don't know what they're talking about.

@hawk 62 If you were that upset with the phone, Verizon has a 30 day worry free guarantee. Take it back. No one is holding your hand to keep you on Verizon. Phones do amazing things now a days and for their relatively small size when compared to devices that do the same (ie: laptops) the batteries also have to be smaller. Stop complaining about the phone and tell the engineers of the world to figure out a better, longer lasting battery. It's not the phones fault if you are telling it to do EVERYTHING. Go buy a Power wheels car and complain about the battery in that too. 1 hour of riding for 14 hours of charge. Iphone users will be Iphone users, but Android is coming hard and heavy. We all have choices.

avengedfo7ld i gave you +1 for that

This site is getting sad. It is filled with a bunch loser. I can agree that with someone who thinks that the Droid x battery is weak. But you sad losers can't take someone that doesn't bow down to the phone you like. The iphone is not perfect. But quit my bitching? Really all you people do is bitch about the iphone.

15. avengedfo7ld posted on 29 Jul 2010, 22:06

I did not say one bad thing about the iphone just saying to each his own. We all choose the phone we use and im just saying if your that mad about the battery its on you if you keep it that's the beauty of 30 day worryfree guarantee

16. ace1122 posted on 30 Jul 2010, 00:17

I agree with hawk62. Some people take everything so seriously. It is a cell phone! Why are you gonna get so mad when some says the battery life sucks? He is talking about a cell phone, not your mother. Relax we can all have our personal opinions without dissing each other. Chill out. Booing the first guy is understandable but not hawk62. He also loves the droid but just thinks the battery isn't great. I mean like wtf that's not even bitching. You wouldn't say that to someone in a Verizon store if they said the battery life sucked so why do it on here?

17. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 30 Jul 2010, 05:53

Why get so upset over the battery? It takes like 3 hours to fully charge it when it's dead. It doesn't take long at all and i blight a wall charger for work and a car charger. Have you seen some of the feature phones as of late? Whoaaaa 3 hours of talk time!!!!! Its that simple i mean if they used really big ass batteries and took away all the awesome features, you know what you'd have? A phone that has a long battery life but weighs a ton and is as thick as hell. Then people would complain about that, they'd complain about his boring and thick the phone is. Buy a battery or wall charger and you're good to go!
