Yea I'm hoping Amazon slashes that price for the holidays. I've been waiting since July for a phone worthy of an upgrade and now I got 3, decisions decisions. I'm goign to wait for the Christmas sales I think.

I can't see how this phone can suck at all. The specs are pretty legit and the thinness...I can't wait to just hold one. But, you never know. The Blackberry Bold was supposed to be the second coming and my God there were bugs in that thing. Same with the dreaded Storm. Still, specs alone make me want to see this thing in action.

Why does it suck? Because Verizon looks their bootloader. While it might feel good, the Nexus is IMO the way to go. The Nexus' plastic polymer is actually more durable than the marketing crap that Motorola uses with the Razr. Not to say the build quality is bad, because the Razr is far from that in terms of build quality, just that people underestimate the Nexus because of the word "plastic".

Other than that, Droid RAZR is an OMAP 4430 overclocked. The Galaxy Nexus is an OMAP 4460 underclocked. Plus the S-AMOLED may not be RGB, but it's still a really high resolution... Samsung's RGBG configuration seems to work much better than Motorola's RGBW.

please educate yourself samsung fans....

TI OMAP4460 in samsung is the underclocked one...and Moto no longer use the RGBW pentile for RAZR...RAZR use S AMOLED Advanced

if you want to bash a phone please at least read the spec of the phone first....so you dont humiliate yourself

Umm I said the Nexus is underclocked, which is good because that means you can overclock it further than the RAZR (which is already overclocked and of a lower chipset). Do you even know what SAMOLED "Advanced" entails and how it compares to the Nexus? It's mostly marketing BS.

My Moto Rep brought one by today and I was able to play with it. It is a phenomenal device! I am not even that big of a fan of Motorola, but they got it right with this phone!

Its even thinner than I thought, and the screen looks so bright and vibrant. I was rather impressed!

Two simple reasons: ICS (we don't know for sure when the Razr will get the upgrade) and the HD screen. That sold me on the Nexus.

I give Motorola points for pushing thin design and giving AMOLED fans another option, but I don't like the non-removable battery trade-off. How many people out there pushing the Razr over the Nexus are just Motorola fans? Be honest.

well, the durability of the phone is awesome. from what i understand the build quality (feel) of the razr far excedes the galaxy nexus. kevlar and gorilla glass are both really big. and you also get expandable memory here.

im holding out to see benchmarks, head to head final build reviews, to hold each in my hand and hopefully to see some timeline of ICS launch on razr (but i doubt we'll get that until next year sometime)

@Padan, Razr has a bigger processor than the bionic, dual core 1.2ghz vs 1ghz on bionic, also, it has a super amoled screen for those nice colors you usually see on android phones. It also has more clarity for it does not have a pentile screen and lastly it has more battery life, all in a very slim phone. Oh and a nice design!

He's referring to the first generation of LTE chips, which judging from Verizon's offerings until now require a lot of space inside the phone and drain the battery rapidly. The next generation of chips (Snapdragon 8960, Exynos 4212, etc) will have the LTE modem built in, allowing smaller devices and better power consumption.

Verizon probably has some nice LTE phones on the way next year too. Nobody's saving their special LTE chips for AT&T, they're just late to the party and will therefore start with newer hardware.

Wasn't that the reason for signing up and giving them my e-mail address? Why else would I give them my e-mail address?

UPDATE: At 4:28 p.m. Pacific, I get an e-mail from VZW advising me about the pre-order period opening at 8:00 a.m. Eastern tomorrow. This after every technical web site I follow had posted at least 4 hours before about pre-orders being accepted tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. Eastern.

For a 4.3" screen, the Razr is pretty wide and tall. They still had to compromise the phone's size to fit the current hardware. With next-gen LTE hardware, it could be the size of the SGS2, only thinner.

I'm not knocking the overall Razr design, but by next year we'll see even more neatly packaged phones.

Do you know about any rumored phones with the above chips included? I just want to read up on it. I have been eligible to upgrade since July 2011. And I do happen to think the phones are to big despite the impressive specs !

Alas, no. I expect we'll see the new tech in phones next spring. If you're looking for something worthy of your upgrade now but smaller than a Nexus or Razr, check out the Rezound. All three should be out together in a couple weeks.
