My eyes can't handle the white text on black background. I had to buy a bunch of third party apps to re-configure ICS on my RAZR to get back to black text on white background. I hope Moto provides configuration options on the RAZR HD.

Good Job Moto....

34. MeoCao (unregistered) posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:55 4

Moto's done a much better job, the bezel looks thinner, and there's no bump, and no physical keys either.

The Razor HD looks cool, I love on screen buttoms. This going to be a great phone

13. nnaatthhaannx2 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:26 3 1

I personally don't like onscreen buttons... but its all preference

17. XPERIA-KNIGHT posted on 19 Aug 2012, 17:06 3 1

Onscreen buttons seem to take up real estate if you know what i mean.....

22. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 18:41 4 1

they take up the space that the buttons would've used anyway unless you're Samsung and you like to put them uncomfortably close to the bottom edge.

98. nnaatthhaannx2 posted on 20 Aug 2012, 15:28

Well it's not that... its just I like the ones on the Razr, how there's a space between both the screen and the edge of the device.
It sorda messes up with videos too, since a lot of developers don't hide the icons when in full screen mode... so you'll be seeing the buttons while watching a video. And then a 720p display doesn't actually have a 16:9 (or 9:16) aspect ratio because the buttons.
I just never really got used to them on Honeycomb (now ICS) on my GTab.

4. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 14:58 2

well, well, well, hello beautiful. I've seen both the Atrix HD and the Photon Q 4G LTE and was impressed with both of them but more so with the Photon. this should be a real Beast. can't wait to learn more about Specs and Special Features. :D

5. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 15:55 4

This is the one im waiting for. Atrix HD lacks NFC, Photon has sealed/locked Sim card. Im really hoping this RAZR HD is a world phone Cuz that would make it my ultimate device for this year.

11. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:19 2

it definitely will be a world phone.

26. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:10 1

Ive had upgrade eligibility for 8 months now, almost got a RAZR MAXX. But I think this will be worth the wait, especially since motorola said they will support bootloader unlocking on all future devices.

41. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 21:31 1

sure if you don't mind losing your unlimited data, go for it.

72. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:13 1

Sadly I never got grandfathered in to that :( Verizon is my backup phone for when my Sprint phone doesnt have service (remember, I work at Sprint ;)

84. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:40

try out the Photon Q if it's easy to acquire one because of your job. maybe you'll have better luck with it. o:

86. 305Bucko posted on 20 Aug 2012, 00:04

NO im def getting this RAZR HD im set.

Photon Q.. no thanks, I only buy High-End. Im not a huge fan of sliders and I woulda made the exception but, the screen resolution does not meet my standards, and the locked/sealed SIM card is a Joke (defeats the whole purpose of having a SIM) The jury is still out on the Camera.

I already got to my training and tried one hands on. Bottom line: Photon Q is just better garbage than the original Photon. I'll pass.

I'll be in line at Verizon for the RAZR HD though cant wait.

87. KingKurogiii posted on 20 Aug 2012, 00:08

huh, i liked the Photon Q for the few minutes i looked at it. xD

88. 305Bucko posted on 20 Aug 2012, 00:18

Its not that bad actually, But I would still get a GS3 or EVO LTE over it... but I dont have my upgrade with Sprint yet. Im still on that Nexus status.

Im gonna use my verizon upgrade for the RZR HD and my Sprint upgrade for the new iPhone. (best of both worlds ;)

I forgot to add: no NFC on the Q either :(

97. tha.fox posted on 20 Aug 2012, 15:05

The Evo lte has insane amount of anoying lag and drops data. the gs3 also has data bugs and touchwiz is ugly and its way more fragile than a motorola phone. The rzr hd will be better by far.

6. zeidof posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:05 1 3

cannot wait, i hope to have 4000mah battery instead of 2540,
also i wanna something like regular razor for display, anyone knows anything about screen?

7. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:10 1

Should be a 4.6 inch 720p ColorBoost or S-Amoled

12. Muhannad posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:22 1

I actually doubt it would be a Super AMOLED otherwise that would be disappointing.

14. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:35 5

Why would it? Pentile really isn't that noticable with such high resoltuions. Though I have heard about there being a blue or yellow tint when viewing white colors on S-Amoled, so that may be a problem. They should use ColorBoost, that's what they used for the Atrix HD and Photon Q after all.

31. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:32 1

S-AMOLED is nice but After seeing the 2nd Gen S-LCD that HTCs been coming out with (made by samsung) leaves a lot to desire

regarding comment 6 Zeidof: 4000mah?!? are you planing a trip to a 3rd world country that doesnt have outlets? I mean were not talking about a tablet here.

32. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:41 1

I thought the S-LCD2 panels were produced by Sony?

http://www.mobileburn.com/definition.jsp?term=S-LCD

"Its most popular proponent is HTC, though Super LCD panels are actually produced by Sony."

38. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 20:14 1

Here's a more reliable source:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-LCD

You are partially correct, this technology was a joint venture between Sony and Samsung (50/50 ownership). But if you remember a while back, Sony sold their ownership to Samsung making them the Sole proprietor of S-LCD.

However, it was never 100% Sonys, but since all Sony phones have S-LCDs and Samsung uses AMOLED, I can see how that can be assumed.

40. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 20:25 2

Ahh, thank you for the correction

8. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:13 4

Looks nice... Man, it would be so disappointing if this were to only have an S4 and 1 GB of RAM. At least match it up with the GS3 Moto. Or let it come out with JB out of the box, that would be a nice trade-off I suppose.

29. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:17 2

S4pro
2GB RAM
388PPI
I wish it came with the above specs ....

30. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:32 2

388 ppi? That means you won't be able to see about 80 of the pixels that are in every inch. People don't seem to realize, the average human eye can't see pixels past 300ppi, so you really can't tell the difference between 300 or 450 ppi. You're graphics are just working harder to push pixels you can't even see, which is useless.

33. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:51 1

totally agree, the only way you would appreciate that much ppi is if you put the phone inches from your eyes. A comfortable distance is 18 inches... 320 is more than enough

51. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:23 1

At 388ppi the graphics would be more finer and sharp when zooming in. So in other terms you either up the screen pixels in so that you can get fine in-depth
clarity.

64. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:57 2 1

Dude, zooming defeats the whole purpose of more PPI. 388 is rediculous dont you get it. Have you even looked at an iPhone retina? you have to squint and hold it like 6 inches from your face to see the itty bitty letters.

Gaming at 388 would need a serious graphics chip and huge battery (not to mention thermal issues like the iPad3)

Its overkill

68. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:03

All merges together 400ppi. PVR sgx 543mp8 or a Mali 400mp8 gpu overclocked to 577ghz along with
1580-1020 resolution will be the stuff of dreams.. withalong side air vents
on side of the phone, so it cools down.

70. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:09

Anythings possible, just like cars, bm 318 to m3s.
Pc i3 to i7. V6 to v12 supercharged twinturbo.
But in phone industry, they don't give or provide you with choices..... How so sad.

75. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:17 3

haha "side vents" lol

...AND A BLOWOFF VALVE for the turbo u kno.
And a carbonfiber body intead of plastic! And NOS for overclocking!!!

76. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:18 1

Yeap!

91. Berzerk000 posted on 20 Aug 2012, 02:10 2

Look, you completely missed my point. At 388ppi, you wouldn't be able to even see those extra 88 pixels. Why would you waste graphics power and battery life of pixels you can't even see? Its pointless.

9. master0fursinz posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:17 2

wow this looks sexy....

10. christianqwerty posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:18 1 4

So will it be called the Motorola RAZR HD MAXX 4G LTE ?

92. troutsy posted on 20 Aug 2012, 08:43

You forgot something...

Motorola DROID RAZR HD MAXX 4G LTE by google.

15. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 16:44 3

I never expect high-end features or specs from Motorola, except batteries.
Samsung and HTC for specs! But I really like the Droid4.

20. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 18:38 3 2

HTC has never beat Motorola in specs and Samsung just barely beats them.

27. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:11 1 2

King the HTC OneX.
The S2
The S3

42. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 21:40 1

all HTC did was beat Moto to the market with a next gen handset, Moto's first next gen handset in the states was the Atrix HD which matches the One X, yeah, Samsung barely beats Motorola in specs, Motorola's OMAP4 devices were barely under Samsung's Exynos 4210 powered devices the OMAP4 powered devices offered LTE support but i still gave Samsung the win and the One X benches better than the US SIII variants now explain to me how what i said was wrong.

35. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 19:57 2 1

The Original Evo, when it came out (in its time) totally beat everything that motorola had out. It wasnt till the RAZR that Moto surpassed HTC but even then Samsung had better specs. Even Right Now the entire HTC ONE line (including the EVO LTE) are better.

KingKurogiii I kno your a Moto fan but cmon, dont be too obsessed there is healthy competition out there.

37. Berzerk000 posted on 19 Aug 2012, 20:06 4

That's true, the One series is better than Moto's line-up currently. But here's the thing, the One Series is HTC's flagships for the year. Moto hasn't gotten their flagship out yet. Yes, the One X and S beat the Razr, but the Razr is Moto's flagship for LAST year. When they get the Razr HD out, Moto will be on top of HTC again

39. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 20:24 2

Im sure they will. No doubt that with all the changes Google is making at Motorola they will very likely even beat Samsung. But at the moment, both the GS3 and HTC One have better Specs and I know this may ruffle some feathers but Even Sony has some good specs that can compete with Moto's CURRENT line up.

My comment was in response to KingK that claimed HTC has never beat Motorola in specs, which, according to your comment, you agree, so thanks for backing me up.

45. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 21:51 1

we're not mix-matching phones from different generations here.

46. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:02 2

your comment said "HTC has never had better specs". I pointed out a time in the past when they in fact DID have better phones than Moto, and others posted a more recent time (present)

48. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:10 1

well that's not what i meant. when they were released don't matter so much as when they were relevant. the phones that Motorola puts out to compete with companies like HTC and Samsung usually puts them in second place due to their use of OMAP SoCs which until recently were always ahead of the curb from Snapdragons.

50. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:17 1 1

Motorola yet haven't announced a Quad-core phone yet. Ompap , Snapdragon vs Exynos processors, 4412 is twice as better than both 4460 and S4 is on par!

52. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:25 1

if that's the kind of comparison you want to do then last year HTC was doing just as bad by not having a dual-core handset like Motorola had the Atrix 4G at he time and the Tegra II is way better than the S2 and the Hummingbird. same kind of comparison, different time frame. see how ridiculous it is?

59. TROLL posted on 19 Aug 2012, 22:47 1 1

King what you on about tegra2 is, was better than the S2 4410 Exynos..... there is, or will be nothing to beat the Exynos chipsets. That is a fact and logical truth.

66. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:01 2 1

Its not worth it, TROLL, theres no reasoning with a person that is obsessed with 1 brand. In his eyes nothing is better than motorola.

Sad, cuz I actually want to buy this RAZR HD but not because I am a blind brand lover. Eventually something else WILL be better and I WILL accept it unlike KingK

69. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:07 1

i'm not biased but i like Motorola for a reason. maybe you missed the parts where i put Motorola second in terms of specs next to Samsung because of FACT. i just have a carefully thought out idea of who is the best in terms of specs. if Samsung made phones with better build quality, better reliability in terms of wireless reception and a UI that has more in common with Stock Android then guess what? i'd have a Samsung.

81. 305Bucko posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:29 1

Dude you are TOTALLY biased. are you kidding? Every Motorola article you are ALL over it glorifying MOTO.

I even told you how I cant wait for the RAZR HD, but for some reason nobody can say anything good about HTC???

Why is it so hard for you to accept that the HTC One series is clearly better, EVERYBODY knows it its not even up for debate. If you were truly unbiased you would say something more along the lines: "Yes the HTC ONE is currently a better phone, however, I beleive the RAZR HD will beat it and HTC wont respond with a better phone for a while"

but saying "HTC has never had better specs" is the whole reason we are having this discussion.

85. KingKurogiii posted on 19 Aug 2012, 23:59

why would the One X be better?
i mean i like Motorola more but in terms of anything that's not subjective HTC isn't really offering anything more compelling than anybody else out there. i mean i said it was faster than the US SIII, what more do you want from me?

90. KingKurogiii posted on 20 Aug 2012, 00:46

well except for Beats support, that's pretty neat. if i were to get a Windows Phone it would probably be an HTC.
