Motorola DROID RAZR HD appears in Cellebrite system

Good news for all of those Motorola DROID fans waiting for more information about the Motorola DROID HD as the device now appears on the Cellebrite system; while not a guarantee that a launch is imminent, an appearance on the device is usually a good sign that a release is getting closer...

Hopefully they get rid of the huge bezel this time!

If the bezel is the only thing wrong with the device when it comes out then it will have a step over the body of the Samsung GS III, with that awkwardly place home button.

this will certainly be one of the best if not THE best on arrival. the only thing that'll really be better is the international Galaxy S III but if it's US cousin comes to the US with S4s all around then it may be heavily matched by the Razr HD.

The Razr HD will be the top predator in the US.
Performance-wise: Equal to top droids (SGS3, OneX, probably Optimus4X)
Looks: Drops competition to oblivion. Except maybe for some unibody fans of the OneX.
Battery: Sends competition to the netherworld (hopefully?).
Updates: gonna get better with Google as their mama.

I just wish Moto stop treating Americans like ugly stepkids. When the Razr first surfaced in the US, the mainland Chinese users got devices with 4.5" and 13 MP shooters.
Don't be surprised if the Razr HD for the US markets comes with better specs than the original Razr, but the US version will still be inferior to the ones released in mainland China.

I wouldn't want an HD screen running on the GPU in the Razr. And the Cameras on these things are probably still poop like all of Moto's cameras, these just have a bigger sensor.

well you've just shown to us how little you know. the GPU in the Razr or the SGX543 as it's formally known is actually quite powerful even by today's standards. it's better than the Adreno 220 used in Qualcomm's S3 and it pushes pixels to HD Displays on quite a few handsets and on top of that the very same SGX543 powers the Galaxy Nexus and it has an HD Display as well. Motorola may not have the best cameras but they're not poop. you can actually coax some very nice shots out of them on occasion and you don't know what other tricks Motorola has for the Camera on the HD. it may very well be a 12MP F2/4 Sensor much like what is used in the Chinese variants of the Razr.

Of course they are going to upgrade the GPU right? Why the hell would they make the successor of the Razr with the same hardware as the Razr and just add HD screen on it? It will be an upgrade, so I'm expecting improvements here and there, specially in the chipset. The current GPU is already powerful enough to power HD res (Sample from King: GNex).

Hmmm, I'm glad to see it. Since Verizon has neutered my upgrades (unless I'm willing to give up my unlimited data) I can upgrade anytime. But I cannot justify upgrading when I have a two year warranty on my RAZR and I've only had it 6 months, Gimmie a year with it and I'll consider it, but the RAZR has been perfect so far.

yeah, i won't be in any hurry to get it myself but i probably will get one outright at some point like if i see a good deal for one somewhere.

I've been waiting to upgrade this old but steady Droid X for about 6 months now. I'm very eager to have this Razr HD handset in my hands. :3

Would love to see this with the OMAP5 processor. Hopefully Moto doesn't follow everyone else and just stick to the S4, we need some comparisons! The new high-end in the U.S is is 4.3+ inch HD display, 1 GB RAM, and A-15 dual or A-9 quad processors. Would love to see Moto combat that with something better than what the other manufacturers are shelling out. We don't need everyone to release pretty much the same things just with a slightly different display and custom UI, we need good competition so innovation can happen.

It's a good point. Especially considering that the S4 is having shortages if I remember correctly. Though I wouldn't have any hesitation if they chose the S4.

If it has a S4 processor, super amoled 720p 4.5+ display, with the 3300mAh battery and of course ICS, it's going to be very difficult NOT to pick this device up. Depends on what comes out first, the SGS3 or the RAZR HD. I got a feeling the RAZR HD will come out first for Verizon.

Freaking Phone Arena!! I'm really hating the fact that every time I connect 2 or more leaks/rumors together, you guys go on like you're the one that made the connection. I'm going to stop connecting leaks/rumors and make you guys do it your selves.

I think the BB Storm 3 is Still in the Cellebrite...... not holding my breath on that one... haha

If this comes with:
ICS with that nearly nonexistant skin shown
MAXX size battery
It may be my next phone, though the moto encrypted bootloader will be a turn off.
28. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4237; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
All of that is pretty much guaranteed. Maybe the Micro SD card slot will be tossed, but I highly doubt it

Verizon make it a WORLD-PHONE please.....
23. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5691; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
it'll be a world phone. you can even make the Razr and the Razr MAXX into World Phones with the ICS update.

I know it probably won't happen but please slide it in before they do away with the unlimited data I currently have. I have an available upgrade on one line now and another line in Aug. If nothing comes out before they do away with the unlimited plan I guess I will go with the Maxx to lock in for 2 more years.

Looks like Motorola taking its time to graduate to quad cores. This 1 looks to be a good offering. Looking at the fact that the sgs3 does not get quad cores in the U.S and that this phone is better looking it can put up a good fight against the Samsung flagship although i like both of em equally.
26. bubbadoes (Posts: 682; Member since: 03 May 2012)
Save your $300 when the phone is launched. It will be free in 6 months just like all the other flagship devices on running Android
27. bubbadoes (Posts: 682; Member since: 03 May 2012)
Taking there time...they havent figured out single core, none the less quad core...and wth do u need quad core on a cell ohone anyway....temple run and facebook updates do not need that type of power
30. blaford (Posts: 2; Member since: 31 May 2012)
Totally agree about multi cores being unecessary on a cell phone. 1 ghz is more than fast enough.
But am I the only one that think android phones should have 2 gigs of ram?
