Black and white – these are the only two color options available for Verizon's Motorola DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR M. But according to rumors provided courtesy of a trustworthy source, new variants of both smartphones may be in tow. No, we aren't talking about hardware upgrades or anything like that. Instead, Verizon may soon unveil blue models of the Motorola DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD...

Might consider a blue MAXX HD at the current price, but the specs are rapidly becoming outdated. Bring on the new Droid Razr X (that has a nice ring to it) in a variety of colors.

Stop releasing 1 year old phones in different color and get some new high end Fn phones! VZW U POS!

Well, more like seven months, but I agree. New colors are an affer-thought and should have come out 2-3 months ago.

Unfortunately 7 months is a generation with today's phones. You can squeeze maybe 10 months out (see S3 to S4) if you release with the highest specs for the time of release. The Razr HDs have mid-2012 specs, so they're due for replacement now.

All the different colors should be released at the same time!

The MAXX HD series is only a few months old and its specs are quite impressive. You'd be foolish to overlook the MAXX's battery has the most impressive spec and run time of any smartphone available. Its battery will run circles around any iphone and galaxy s 4. I see nothing wrong with giving consumers additional colors to choose.

hmm, interesting ploy here, considering 1)these phones are rapidily becoming irrelevant and 2) the motorola X is about to be announced in the next month or two, and 3) how many people DON'T put a case on thier phones? IMO, it's quite silly not to, but that's just me.

actually the M also comes in Platinum and Pink so this would be it's 5th color option and the 3rd for the HD. the MAXX HD only comes in black though. i might've gotten a white MAXX HD if they had offered it. o:

No way! The Maxx HD is way too manly to be anything but black.
Or blue. :)

yeah, that's kind of how i justified it when i found out. xD
way i saw it the Razr M was the simple, petite phone that appealed to normal people on a budget and women.
the Razr HD was the higher end, middle ground model that appealed to more style conscious people and to teenagers that want the high end specs but didn't want to pay top dollar for it with it's slimmer profile and different color options. (think SIII 16GB)
the Razr MAXX HD was the mack daddy Razr that appealed to the more professional, tech conscious crowd that wanted to get the most bang out of their buck with that battery life and extra storage. (think SIII 32GB minus the MAXX battery)
i thought that if the MAXX HD had the color options of the HD then it would kind of take away from the regular HD.
hopefully the X Phone will have just one version and that version will be available to all carriers in those rumored 20 colors. then we'll be able to have our cake and eat it too. ;)

Only if their prices can be lower, since there are other devices more attractive now

They recently cut the on-contract price of the Razr line across the board. Now the M is free, the HD is $50 and the Maxx is $150. That's quite competitive.

Too bad they'll be in short supply just like anything else Moto right now.
Always "component shortages" with these guys.
When I used to sell phones, the RAZR line always had data-connectivity issues and half of them wouldn't read a SIM card.
Moto is waaay over rated, their radios are the only thing they got going for them. If I lived in the backwoods and only needed talk, I'd be all over it. But as a power-data user who lives in the city, no Moto.
