Be careful what you wish for. Gingerblow was a disaster on my Droid X. Expect your phone to randomly reboot when it is turned off. Get used to the text messaging app to take 1-5 seconds to open. The camera can take up to a whopping 7 seconds to open and start firing off pictures. You'll basically miss every random photo opportunity with 2.3 slowing things down. If you don't believe me, browse the Motorola forums to read all about the hassles and frustrations their poorly written software has caused. If I were you guys, I'd stick with 2.2 at all costs. That's where Motorola's software engineering prowess peaked. There are some nice features with 2.3, but it comes at the expense of the phone being incredibly laggy and downright unreliable.

@Chris I feel for you my friend, I downloaded the Gingerbread update when it became available and started having random problems like what you speak of. I downloaded the Go Launcher Theme and it helped for a while then back to force closes. but the 2.3.4 update about a month and a half ago came and no problems since, hope you get it fixed
