I know I have a droid incredible and I miss the landscape keyboard on a smartphone

Sounds like a real update here. Unlike the droid 2 which was more like the droid 1.5

Nice to see a row for numeric keys... Unfortunately I already know this is going to be a 3G phone

5. LionStone posted on 15 May 2011, 22:13 1 1

yea, this looks great...the numeric keys will give more finger clearance for regular typing. Wouldn't it be nice to have a 4G, dual core, Gingerbread, with qwerty board?!

7. Lucas777 posted on 15 May 2011, 22:17 3

except this wont have 4g...

Its 3G only.

i'll get it even if it's 3G only, i haven't had a real need for 4G yet, definitely not more than i need my keyboard. i can wait for better LTE options, i know there'll always be better choices later on down the road but since we're only dealing with these first half baked LTE enabled devices right now it's worth the wait and besides having one of the first dual core phones in the states will make up for not having LTE.

My concern, and the only reason I upgraded from the OG Droid to the TBolt - even though I am not in a 4G area either - is that the days of unlimited smartphone data may be numbered. Moving from a 3G to a 4G device gets you the unlimited 4G feature on the line so you can keep it if they decide to stop offering it. Since it's a different feature on 3G vs. 4G devices, if you wait until after the (theoretical) end of the unlimited 4G feature, your unlimited 3G won't move with you when you *do* upgrade to a 4G phone.

I thought I would miss they keyboard terribly. And sometimes, I do. But the large screen combined with having installed Swype makes the lack of a keyboard less painful.

i have a Droid X and a Droid Charge and i defiantly prefer using my Droid 2 over both of them and besides you can only grandfather yourself into unlimited data with one more 2 year contract and after that when you decide to upgrade you'll have to live with data caps. i don't care to use an upgrade just to have unlimited data on a phone i don't even like. whatever happens happens.

If it's not 4g then forget it! Idk why everyone says they'll wait on 4g. It's currently the same price as 3g and it's super dope! Verizon's 4g network is sketchy, but it's super fast and noyce. But waiting for the Bionic is understandable.

Verizon is so slow on the releases......waiting since Feb. for an upgrade with a qwerty keyboard!!!! Having long nails prevents you from using heat censored touch screens!!! I bought a stylus at Best Buy....but carrying it around all day....just wouldn't cut it!!! When is the release date????

16. cthunder posted on 18 May 2011, 10:23

I hear ya! Well I don't have long nails, just big hands :-). I WISH Verizon would come out with a EVO Shift 4g for their network and I would be stoked. I can't seem myself getting the Droid3 I just can't stand their crappy kybds.

thank God there are numerical keys on top..

The hassle of pressing ALT and then a number was becoming quite tedious at times..

thank you for understanding our petty needs @ motorola
