Motorola DROD BIONIC page pulled from Moto's website

Motorola DROD BIONIC page pulled from Moto's website
If you go to the Consumers section on Motorola's website, the DROID BIONIC is still rotating there with its own Flash-animated promo. Click on it, however, and it takes you to a generic page with Moto's phones, where before it listed the BIONIC's overview and spec sheet.

This is just another hint that we won't see the Motorola DROID BIONIC ship anytime soon, and, as our own sources indicated, we won't see it ship at all in its original form.

Rather, the company's first LTE handset will most likely be the Motorola Targa that we saw leaked a while ago, and will probably still appear under the BIONIC title, with the power management and other kinks worked out during the summer.

Thanks for the tip!

Nooooooooooooo! Damn it! It's true! It would've been the biggest seller of the year for Verizon. Now there are just some secondary droids coming out. Now it'll either be the new Bionic in the late summer or hopefully maybe (and this is a long shot) the Galaxy S II.

I would hardly call the Targa (which is now probably going to be released about in the BIONIC's original timeframe) a secondary Droid.

Neither would I, I was referring to the Droid Charge, Thunderbolt, Incredible 2 and X2. The Targa is now going to be the new Bionic, like I said, in the late summer

I don't know if it's going to be in the late summer, the rumors I've heard have pegged it as being moved up to the BIONIC's original release date. Even if it's the late summer that would place it at about the same release date as the Droid X and 2 from last year, which isn't at all bad.

If the rumors concerning the iPhone 5's new release date are true, then the Targa will come in and kick its ass in WOW factor a full month ahead of schedule, and Apple will be left as a laughingstock in the tech world. ESPECIALLY if it's running Gingerbread with Moto's new version of Blur.

Here goes sniggly bringing up the iphone again. This article has nothing to do with Apple. By the way aren't you one of the people that keeps trashing Apple for their rumored delayed iPhone 5 but it's cool if motorola does it? Also this phone is not going to beat Apples phone in specs other than 4g.

This article has nothing to do with Apple, and I didn't mention Apple in it.

I wasn't trashing Apple for delaying the iPhone; I'm trashing them for delaying it and it STILL not being that much up to par with the devices that will be released right before and after it. Now, if they delay it and it turns out to be complete awesome sauce, then fine, they did a good job. But no LTE? Even the X2 only needs a minor refresh in order to stay right on top of the iPhone 5.

Let me repeat that: a phone made almost a year ago just needs a new processor and maybe a boost in internal memory in order to stay on par with the next iPhone, and it's NOT EVEN A FLAGSHIP ANDROID PHONE ANYMORE.

P.S. I'm applauding Motorola for not releasing the Etna, which is experiencing power management and other issues, because it's an example of quality control after extensive testing. If Apple exercised the same standards Antennagate never would've happened. There might have been a delay (like this year) but they would've been much better off.

Would you believe that before Antennagate I bore no ill will toward Apple? It's true, I considered Apple a worthy competitor to Motorola's Droid. And I thought the 4 was a nice step forward in design. But even I took a look at that exposed antenna running all around the phone and said to myself "That's going to be trouble."

And I was right.

P.P.S. The Targa will have a better resolution camera at the very least, and LTE connectivity (especially compared to Verizon's 3G speeds) is a HUGE deal.

Do you understand now, Taco, or do I need to overexplain some more?

apple can't advance anymore because they can't steal anything else to improve their products; everyone is advancing along their own schedules, and apple is stuck in the dust, and I doubt they'll ever catch up. In 10 years, it wouldn't surprise me if the iphone goes the way of the similarly lesser devices, forgotten as a faddy fashion item for the ill-informed

It's a shame I really liked the specs on this phone. I hope they can fix the problems and bring it out at a later date.

This Bionic is certainly worth waiting for. Those that have waited a full two years for their contract to be up and are dying for a new phone, June/July seems like forever. But this version of the Bionic is a very good phone, at least on paper. I am a little concerned about Moto going overboard and layering this device with overkill in the UI side of things, as they tend to do. A little less Motoblur (it seemed to work well on the original "X"), and let your good hardware and Android sell your product for you.
