Motorola CLIQ getting Android 2.1 in March?

Time is the only enemy to face against before the Motorola CLIQ is believed to be graced with the Android 2.1 OS update. Back last month, we reported about how the DROID and CLIQ were expected to get the update. Now on the heels of Motorola confirming that the DROID will indeed get the update this week, one of BGR's tipster has been heard saying that the same will be happening to the Motorola CLIQ. Although DROID owners will get in on the fun first, it's being said by the tipster that CLIQ owners are expected to see the update sometime next month in March. With that in mind, it could potentially be as early as a few weeks from now before it starts rolling out - so now there's no reason to abandon the handset and go with some other device offering the latest platform.

the mytouch is getting it too :). i cant wait for a blur free version of the 2.1 for my Cliq. LOL :) I have both phones so ill do some fun side by side comparisons when they both end up with it.

@tmofanboy432 Motorola Cliq should still have Moto Blur, even with 2.1. Some features that Motoblur was adding over the 1.5 face are now going to be integrated into the OS with a little detraction from the Motoblur-esness. Funny, the verizon Droid which came with 2.0 didnt have MotoBlur, but then this verizon Moto Devourer has Motoblur integration...hmmm...maybe we TMO customers won that spout huh, maybe moto blur aint so bad huh

I agree, I love Motoblur. I love having all that social networking right on my home-screen. Not to count all the other things it does. I don't mind waiting longer to get 2.1 that works with Motoblur. Anyone that has the Cliq and hates motoblur, (witch I see a lot of in the forums), all I can say is you had 2 weeks to return it, no questions asked. If you hate it so bad then why did you keep it? That XT is making my mouth water though. My second line is due for an upgrade and I can get it for 99 bucks, but I'm going to hold off this time for awhile and see what happens with these updates and what phones get flash 10.

God I can't wait until the Cliq updates to 2.1 ... as of today (march 16th) , No 2.1 update for the cliq.
