I'm not even sure if i want to stay with Motorola or buy the iON. AT&T is killing everybody with it's 99$ price tag

I don't want this, I want the Atrix HD MAXX!!!

will never happened. Verizon always gets the good phones and i haven't see their RAZR like phone on T-mobile or Sprint yet

Verizon gets the good phones? You're joking, right? AT&T has a way better selection. Verizon gets mostly Moto phones. They didn't even get a version of the One X and their Galaxy S III is late. They have no Windows Phones at all. They also charge much more for their phones on contract.

Not to mention they are the most expensive carrier.
41. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 15:28 0 1
and where's AT&T's Nexus & Razr MAXX? oh that's right...
48. ahhxd717 posted on 10 Jul 2012, 17:07 0 0
At least you can get an unlocked Nexus for AT&T for only $350.
50. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 10 Jul 2012, 18:02 0 0
Exactly, I paid 300 on contract for my Version GN when for 50 dollars more I could gotten an unlocked jellybean 4.1 Galaxy Nexus. Not having LTE is worth it considering I don't even get LTE in my area and HSPA+ does the job.
51. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 19:26 0 0
that's a good deal but Verizon has always had it.
43. InspectorGadget80 posted on 10 Jul 2012, 15:37 1 0
let's see GALAXY NEXUS/DROID RAZR/DROID 4 FULL QWERY KEYBOARD? those are GOOD PHONES
44. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 15:46 0 0
yeah, the Droid 4 too for sure.

AT&T is definitely being competitive with their pricing. I wish they had the same 4G LTE coverage as Verizon because I would switch in a heartbeat.
6. Sniggly posted on 10 Jul 2012, 10:18 1 0
The only thing that kind of kills it for me is the seeming lack of internal storage (like the Atrix 2, which can only store photos, music etc on the SD card). I hope they at least provide a decent SD card out of the box. The 2 gig card on the 2 is a joke.
Also, sadly, if the 2 gets discontinued, we won't really have a free Android smartphone left on AT&T. At least until the Skyrocket gets dropped down to that price or something.

Sd cards are cheap. I have seen 32gb sd cards for under $20. The other thing on sd cards is somewhere on the net there is a speed comparison of sd cards on different loads and depending on brand the class of the card does not mean it is better at read and write speeds. Besides they are all fast enough for media the only difference I see maybe is transferring stuff from card to computer and back being different.

I'm going to f*cking scream, Motorola Atrix HD and the Dark Knight Rises in the same week!!!! is this a dream or am I dying...

you should get one of those sexy, matte black colored ones to celebrate the Dark Night. ;D

Why isn't a bigger deal being made about this phone? From what it looks like, this is A) Moto's first phone with a screen larger than 4.3", B) their first phone to ship with ICS and no physical buttons, C) their first 720p phone, and D) is only $99. Of course for that price, I have a sneaking suspicion that the nameless "dual-core processor" is probably just last year's OMAP, but even so, this is a major step in the right direction for Motorola.
12. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 11:47 2 0
no, it's definitely an S4. the 4430 dosen't actually support 1.5GHz, in fact 1.2 was an overclock on Moto's part and it seems unlikely that they'd start using 4460-70 when the S4 is out.
54. randomguest posted on 11 Jul 2012, 11:10 0 1
It could very well be an S3. I'm actually quite sure, the Xperia Ion has identical pricing on AT&T and it has a dual core 1.5ghz S3.
55. KingKurogiii posted on 11 Jul 2012, 14:34 0 0
the Xperia Ion is an older phone and Qualcomm isn't going to go back to using S3s unless they absolutely have to.
58. randomguest posted on 26 Jul 2012, 08:20 0 0
Not much older. And yes it was an s4 after all. Nice value there.
9. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 10:59 2 0
I recall having a big arguement with a certain fellow about why this phone should be priced low.
Seems like Motorola and AT&T agreed with me.
This phone is a steal for 99$.
13. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 11:50 1 0
it's just icing on top that it's so cheap. AT&T Users have been yearning for a Razr variant and here it is, better than ever in black and white. Verizon's Razr was popular @ $200-$300 imagine how much this will sell.
17. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:24 0 0
It's not really an icing untop of anything because this phone really isn't much of a cake. It's definitely a solid device, but now I hope you understand the fundamentals of why devices are priced the way they are. I do think that 99$ is undershooting this device because you do get a good amount, but at 200$ it would be a failure, 150$ seems reasonable, But AT&T knows the ins and outs of this, exemplified by this 99$ price tag.
I predict this will be a hot sell.
19. Jimstar posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:34 1 0
It has an HD display, it has LTE, it has the latest generation CPU. There's absolutely nothing, with the exception of storage and I guess battery size on some more recent examples, that separates this device from other top of the line models.
What exactly do you think this phone is missing?
21. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:43 0 0
Me and Kurogii have debated this topic extensively, I do not wish to re-iterate what we spent days arguing, I can link you the whole thing if you want.
23. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:46 0 1
funny how he agrees with me by using his own line of logic. ;)
25. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:50 0 0
I don't know where I agreed with you, but OK, people will persist, even when what they are defending don't agree with their argument, in theory.
Lmao this is becoming laughable..
27. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:55 0 0
i was talking about Jimstar. xD
18. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:27 0 0
I just waiting for reviews of this device to come out, because even 99$ seems a bit too good to be true at the moment. We'll see.
22. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:44 0 0
i don't know why you're so quick to knock this phone. i guess underestimation of Motorola is strong in you.
24. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:48 0 0
I don't know where I've "knocked" this phone. If anything, you are way too loyal to Motorola, assuming whatever they release is top-notch without even observing the device in operation.
Lol, I don't hate Motorola, but it's been a while since they've released anything, let alone a true-next gen device, so I am skeptical.
And, I already said this device is a steal, I guess you just didn't see that.
29. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:03 0 0
yeah and i guess your deep pride in Samsung couldn't be seen as anything similar. i don't see why it wouldn't. i'm sure you weren't skeptical about any Galaxy phone.
what does that have to do with anything? i'm sure they've gauged how successful the Razr has been in all this time. that's probably why the Atrix HD picks up on that.
sure i did but like Jimstar said how could any device of this caliber at that price not be a steal?
33. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:20 0 0
You can't claim I have any deep pride in Samsung, because I waited for the reviews of their phones before I judged any of them. I simply acknowledged their accomplishments over the last 2 years. And yes I was skeptical about Galaxy phones. To be honest, this Galaxy phone was not exactly what Samsung cracked it up to be. I can say without a doubt that it is the best Android phone currently available, but the huge marketing campaign Samsung put behind it generated monumental amounts of hype that the phone itself didn't match i.e. PenTile instead of RGB. And that left lost of people like me wondering what the big hooplah was about. So no, I am not a die-hard Samsung fan. I closely observe Samsung products because they tend to release great devices consecutively, but you guys are praising a device that hasn't even release yet, I mean, come on...
I don't see the whole point of the steal comment, but we'll, I guess I'll just agree again..
38. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:38 0 0
i'm not really solidifying the Atrix HD as a great product but based on the Company's past and their capacity to make really killer devices along with this phone's specs and the fact that they're not really overselling it i think i can safely assume with almost certainty that it'll be a real solid device.
39. ObjectivismFTW posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:49 0 0
Lol, I would say something, but for the sake of leaving this article open to others, and avoiding another argument, I will not.
10. snowgator posted on 10 Jul 2012, 11:18 2 0
Might have to go and spend some time with this. Love it is a "rugged" style device. Love the looks. Love ICS. And the extras could be fun.
While WP8 is first on my wish list, I want to have back up in case it disappoints. By this winter, this bad boy will be pretty cheap off contract, and I might be tempted......
14. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 11:52 1 0
this is a killer phone for AT&T, especially for just a Benjamin.
32. Commentator posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:09 1 0
Could the price be a move by AT&T to pre-empt Verizon's rumored Droid Razr HD? By all accounts, the Razr HD will have virtually the exact same specs as the Atrix HD, but it's a sure bet that Verizon will price it at at least $199.99. Maybe AT&T is trying to sway the Droid crowd over to their side.
42. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 15:32 0 0
I honestly thought Motor would have a kind of HD announcement to announce phones for at least AT&T, Sprint & Verizon but maybe you're right and AT&T wanted Motorola to give them a shot at sales before dropping the it guns on Big Red. o:

The battery's too small to power that processor and screen. Wait for Maxx version.
53. Berzerk000 posted on 11 Jul 2012, 06:28 1 0
It has the same processor as the One X on AT&T, runs on the same network, has nearly the same amount of battery, and has a smaller screen with the same resolution. On the review for the One X, PA said it lasted a full day with normal usage (though they ran it on HSPA+). So this should be about the same.

I see Moto is starting some kind of trend with this kevlar thing. Not a bad thing to have but I think it might be difficult to differentiate between models
26. Commentator posted on 10 Jul 2012, 12:50 1 0
I don't think Motorola will care if we can differentiate between models, as long as we know that it's a Motorola phone. People always complain that HTC phones all look the same, but isn't that the point? They created an iconic form-factor that people can immediately identify. If people can identify kevlar backs, big round front-facing cameras, and squared-edges as Motorola, Moto won't care if you think it's a Razr Maxx, Razr, or Atrix HD. It just means their design team did a good job carving out a brand image.

I had the Motorola Atrix 4G.. This phone was a great phone at a hardware standpoint..by far the best hardware maker of androids.. However, their software killed it for me.. I had multiple problems with the 2.3 update on my Atrix 4G.. however, since Google bought Motorola out.. they might have something going for them now.. Im gonna stick with the Galaxy S series until further notice.
30. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:05 0 0
the Atrix was like 2 whole versions of attention behind that of Verizon's Moto devices but this is state of the art even by those standards.
35. Jyakotu posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:29 0 0
Say what you will about AT&T and their business practices, but people can't deny how competitive their pricing has been for their devices lately. The Atrix HD looks to be a fabulous choice for those who prefer Moto flavored Android devices. Seeing these new phones coming to AT&T makes me miss them so much. Ugh, come on Sprint, step it up.!
49. Jyakotu posted on 10 Jul 2012, 17:36 0 0
I was added on a family plan in order to save money, so I joined my mother's family plan. Sprint is OKAY in Charlotte, NC, but compared to AT&T, that's not saying a whole lot.
36. greyhulk posted on 10 Jul 2012, 13:29 0 0
I generally hate Motorola phones, but I'm not ashamed to admit that this is a good-looking phone. Too bad it will have the trademark horrible Moto camera in it. Even Blur doesn't look too bad on this phone.
46. Commentator posted on 10 Jul 2012, 16:18 0 0
That's because Blur is utterly non-existent. Motorola even dropped the Blur name in favor of keeping their new interface nameless.
47. KingKurogiii posted on 10 Jul 2012, 16:24 0 0
it really does kinda suck that there is that scare now. Motorola should come out and say if a MAXX version is coming soon. o:
