To be honest this is the first post from the Miz in a long time that I will somewhat agree on.
I don't know if it's because of motoblur but both with the OG Droid and Droid 2 at the end of life they seemed to have a lot of issues with the latest updates.

So you had the original DROID? How long? What happened? Specifics matter a lot, especially if you ever got a warranty replacement, which straight up suck no matter what the original quality was.

No, the warranty replacements do not matter because obviously if I am using a warranty replacement, then that must mean something went wrong with the first phone. Get over it, stop stressing over something said by a random stranger over the internet.
But if it's that important to you, I had issues with my phone freezing up along with several instances of rebooting on its own. Are you happy now? Can you get some sleep now?

dude, i'm sure something will go wrong at some point with any iPhone as well, it's just a matter of the problem. all Sniggs is trying to get out of you is what kind of problems you had with your Droid. besides the Droid is OLD now and Android has evolved exponentially since it's day.

I love Android but I've had many problems with Motorola phones. I started off with the Moto Q9m in high school, back when having loads of music on your phone was the only cool thing to do! Then it moved extremely slow and started bugging on me, even with the SD card removed.
So after that, I upgraded to the original Droid and fell in love at first. I laughed at all my friends with their iPhones whenever I got a notification and they heard the loud "DROID" noise from the commercial. I thought it was going to last me the full two years, but it lasted about 3 months and became unusable. Screen flickering, apps randomly opening, calls being made in my pocket while asleep (and I kept the phone with a patterned lock screen), and it would constantly end my calls whenever it wanted. That lasted for the first 4 replacements, and Verizon was no help in the matter. So here I am with a slightly upgraded G2X with T-Mobile since it was free and I just needed something that worked compared to that mess.

Yeah it was a painful time. But I read Verizon's forums about the phone and saw that a lot of people were having the problem too, just not all at once.

your problem is that you go to the Verizon forums that's full of complainers. i've had plenty of Motorolas that work just fine.

Not sure what, but your phone might have been one of those that had a case of issues. My brother had the OG droid and now has a Droid X, my little sis now uses his OG droid and it's still going strong 4 years later. So yes it's probably a problem with a bad batch or something. T-Mobile, sheesh the only thing T-Mobile has going for them is cheap prices, but with their on again off again network issues and other weird oddities. Yes my gf is a t-Mobile customer and has the Vibrant, cheap plans but little else. Their replacement warranty is 1 year from purchase and then you have to fork over $110 for a replacement phone. Their network randomly loses service in some areas for no known reason, takes forever to get service after exiting the subway. Then their phones pretty much never get updates, so cheap plans and everything else is haphazard, I'll keep my VZW until someone else can match them in quality service.

Its because they are not allowed to, all future skins have to have the same holo theme as ICS or else there will be no google apps on the phones. sammu and htc will also have to change their UIs

you obviously misunderstood that holo theme requirement, there will be sense and touchwiz with quite the same ui as we know them;

Asimo is right - OEM's must support the holo theme, they don't have to make it the default theme. So you can still skin the UI to your heart's content, you just have to let independent widgets and apps use the holo them when they are isntalled

I know you can still skin it. Never in my post did i say that you cant skin it. i said it has to have the same theme. I know they are all still skinnable and ive seen HTC sense 3.6 with ICS and it looks just like stock ICS htcified (if thats a word)

I dunno. I've always been a fan of function over form, and that lock screen implies the function of having apps you can go to directly, like HTC Sense.

Thats one of the main reasons I love me some Sense, specifically 3.0 and 3.5. I like being able to open apps directly from the lockscreen, or being able to read a new text message

May lockscreen apps allow you to choose various apps at the lockscreen without making that depth Effect. They are clean looking and functional at he same time. This one needs a bit more Work

this is great, exactly what i thought Moto would do with ICS and i'll have a phone with this loaded in the next month or so. the Nexus becomes much more forgettable after seeing this Google/Motorola goodness.

Good to the the ICS theme everywhere! That's quite nice and motor can focus its time in other ways to diferenciate itself while making faster updates (I think this will be ready by Q2) maybe the improve some other tools and make blur more constant

Motorola is the one OEM who I can get behind when they do something with Vanilla Android. Since the Droid X motorola has been making their version of Android less in your face, their widgets are useful and they look streamlined and clean. If you've used the Bionic you'll understand what I mean. Just wished that they would actually have updates for their widgets too. Anyway, like I predicted back when the RazR came out, the Galaxy Nexus has nothing over it but a larger and higher resolution screen, but as a total package the Razr is the better of the two and with the Maxx coming there really isn't much the Nexus can say. ICS?!? Nope Razr is sporting that in a very short while...well the Nexus does have the Vanilla Android experience, but my experience with Moto and it's ever decreasing attitude with blur has been positive.
I like the way it looks, now after the Razr comes the Bionic and X2. Motorola is on a bit of a roll, that was pretty quick turn around with the ICS.

Will this ICS in the Razr also come with face unlocked like that in the Nexus? The unlocked screen shown in th esnap shot doesnot seem to be face unlocked. Right?
If Razr also comes with the face unlocked function, it will be a whole lot better.

Good luck with that, Motorola doesn't seem to release the same phone on major cell networks in the same region. You have never seen the Droid 1-4 anywhere else in the US, the DX1 and 2, Bionic and now Razr. They might appear in countries outside the US, but not in the US. Especially any phone that makes the Droid lineup. Only phones that are close to one another is probably the Photon and the Bionic, but that's about it. I have seen the DX on one of the smaller networks somewhere, but it was on a relatively small isolated network. Motorola probably won't use this design outside of the Droid line up and countries outside the U.S. as it will compete with their other offerings on the other major networks.
