Moto X+1 claimed again to be Motorola's first phone with a 1080p display, alleged pictures leak
0. phoneArena 30 May 2014, 07:57 posted on
We've been hearing about an alleged Motorola Moto X+1 flagship upgrade for a while now, and the phone was even referenced on the company's own website several times. The other day a resident leakster posted a blurry image of what is supposed to be the Moto X+1 riding on the subway, which you can see in the slideshow below, and today we have one more eventual picture of the handset, courtesy of a Baidu user...

I'm kind of disappoint the top and bottom bezels aren't smaller
Especially if its 5.2", then it would quite a lot bigger, like all the other 2014 flagships
But yea the side bezels are great

Why do the specs say 1.7gb of ram? The 12mp camera means it can do 4k video (well if it allows it). It looks like they removed the barometer (handy altimeter gone now, well you can use GPS instead). I hope they keep the water resistance. I wish Motorola would follow the trend of LG and Samsung with their flagships and offer a removable battery. If not that at least follow the recent trend of all the flagships using micro SD cards.

The quality of these pictures are terrible! It always seems like these early leak pictures are taken on 2mp camera phones lol

It seems that chinese assembler able to produce a better spec phone than American Moto x, really shame indeed

Its still designed by Motorola. The company has not changed over yet. Besides most of the worlds components and parts come from there in the first place.

Because specs mean everything when it comes to how well the phone works, right? /sarcasm

SERIOUSLY. That's why MOTOROLA'S Flagship phone just utterly SANK in the US last year...

Do all these companies really believe if they release gold phones they'll be a big hit like the iPhone? There was data released a month or so ago showing for every black iPhone, there are 4 gold. Is this what companies are trying to achieve? High sales, which they believe will come from gold color options, or just offering what a lot of people like?
11. Sniggly (Posts: 7220; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Or maybe Motorola's next phone will have a gold option because HOLY FU CKING SH IT, THE PRECEDING PHONE MODEL HAD A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT COLOR OPTIONS.
Jesus, not everything revolves around Apple. Motorola's doing very well by doing many things the exact opposite way Apple does them.

Yeah....I'm fed up apple fans thinking that everyone copies apple....while apple itself copies from others...
I'm samsung fan....but I'm more excited about X+1...if they add micro sd support I'm in...

Woah man calm down I didnt mean for my comment to make you so mad bro lmfaoooooo. Yes, previous color palat, which did not include gold haha. Use your head. Everyone is on the gold bandwagon now because of Apple. You should consider common sense some time, and while youre at it, get a therapist. I think you have an anger issue.

No matter how others follow their bandwagon, Smarter people will still not buy apple because of their Overpriceness. So, I and other smarter people don't give even a single piece of acceptance with your statement.

So, that means you're not responding back with nonsense, Right?

Sauce, you're a relatively new idiot on this site, so I understand that you don't know me.
So let me break it down like a fraction for you: I will type passionate things like the above without actually being upset. I just like to drive points home for the learning impaired. That means you.
You're right. They didn't do gold last time. They did do a bunch of other colors though, nice colors. So like any good capitalist company, they're expanding their options, including an option that a competitor offers. It doesn't mean that they're relying on the gold color to increase sales. Motorola just needs to do more things right with the Moto Algebra that they didn't do last time with the X (availability, pricing, advertising) and they will do a lot better. The gold color won't be the be all to end all, and Motorola doesn't think it will.
This is, of course, assuming a gold color will actually be available. As pointed out below, it could just be a crappy photo-none of the pictures in the set above are particularly well done.

Lost you at "so I understand that you don't know me."

"Could care less for what you have to say"
Thank you for summing up your opinion of everyone who disagrees with you.

To you if Apple is on the wrong, to you their still right.
Motorola was selling gold color phones way before Apple in the 90s and 2000+ .
No Apple is not a trend setter, carrying, having and owning a Apple product is the latest fashion and to look cool.

It's white in the picture. Someone just put a filter on it like an idiot.
8. Gsizzle (Posts: 36; Member since: 19 Aug 2013)
Better be affordable. I am looking forward to this phone since last year.
12. Sniggly (Posts: 7220; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
Looks like they're not fixing what isn't broken. Hopefully they keep the pricing model the same as what they settled on eventually for the Moto X, and don't do stupid exclusivity deals. If Motorola plays this right the Moto Algebra will do a lot better in sales than the original.
26. sprockkets (Posts: 1452; Member since: 16 Jan 2012)
Making it 5.2 inches large is "fixing what isn't broken."
29. Sniggly (Posts: 7220; Member since: 05 Dec 2009)
I don't know, the extra half inch might be nice. Especially since a portion of that is almost always taken up by the on screen buttons, which in reality does shorten it more to a 4.8 inch screen.

not made in USA,specs are much better and price maybe 4 to $500 then it will sell. the 800 sd chip why not 801?...
31. a_merryman (Posts: 744; Member since: 14 Dec 2011)
If it isn't made in the USA any longer, then it should be cheaper. Why would it go up to 4-500? I can get the American-made one for cheaper than that.
46. Berzerk000 (Posts: 4144; Member since: 26 Jun 2011)
Being made in the USA actually made the phone more expensive to produce. They could actually lower the price now that it's being moved out of the country. And this is probably a prototype, the official Moto X+1 will most likely have a different SoC.

Nvm. I didn't want a sub 5" phone anyway...
20. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 6877; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
Please enough with this ugly gold colors
22. brokenchains (Posts: 17; Member since: 28 Nov 2012)
Pretty sure it's not gold, people. Looks like discoloration of the image to me, it's just white. Calm yourselves.
32. darkoman4 (Posts: 105; Member since: 30 May 2014)
I will not under any circumstances buy this phone until it is at least 6 months old. Judging by the last iteration, it's price will go down by 50%. I am still paying off my MotoX I paid $500 on motorola.com using their credit. After 7 months I still owe more then this phone is worth new now.

44. SupermanayrB (Posts: 232; Member since: 20 Mar 2012)
I've stated before & I'll continue to say it. Better camera & micro SD slot or I'm getting the G3 or Note 4.
