Moto X users will get an extra 50GB free Google Drive storage

0. phoneArena 01 Aug 2013, 14:03 posted on

We all know that whenever Google wants to sweeten the deal a bit when selling a piece of hardware, the go-to deal that is always included is extra Google Drive storage, and the Motorola Moto X isn't immune to that treatment. Although the Moto X's DROID cousins are going to be accompanied by 6 months of free Google Play Music All Access, the Moto X buyers will be getting extra Google Drive space...

Can I get 2 years of Google Play Music All Access? Because I would choose that instead. 50 GB in Google Drive is a good amount though....

Unless your storing your crap on your own server and actually have a working knowledge of network filtering and data encryption i doubt your going to put your data anywhere that the NSA cant get to it anyway.

It just gets me that sometimes (not always) the people yelling hardest about privacy are social networkers.

But to answer the question I think I would rather the 50gigs. I like music but doubt I would use it enough to truely enjoy it. But then again, after 2 years, if I dont renew I will probably lose a bunch of data. I prefered the deal with the HP TouchPad of 50gigs of Box for free without a time limitation (least none that I am aware of).

I'd rather have the 6 month Google Play Music. Storage is bundled free to sweeten the deal for hardware because cloud storage is cheap. Well, for a casual user like me, it is just as cheap to buy a TB drive, connect to a $30 raspberry pi web server and upload my photos.

I might try this app TouchFree Photo HomeSync to upload photos automatically to lan web-server....it is not free though.
