Well the icons are stock and the on screen buttons are stock, so I would imagine it is running stock completely.

Doesnt really matter....cuz whats on the current Motorola phones look exactly like that. A person wouldnt be able to tell if was stock unless they went looking way down deep to see.

As far as faster updates .....I can understand that. Even that wont matter as bootloaders and root exploits are being locked down tighter. Only way to get a truly open phone is to get a Nexus. Even Samsung is getting into the locked down game.

No, most of the icons are all different on Motorola devices currently. I have a Razr HD in house, most of the icons are different from what I can tell, and the icons on the Moto X in the photo are stock.

The Moto X is going to be a Google device. Basically a Nexus, but more like a Google Edition

While it is not as pronounced as the soft key background on my RAZR M I can still tell that there is some kind of background on the soft keys in the photo above. Also what is that in the top right corner of the device under the camera? Is that also part of the screen or something else? I have not seen that in any of the other photos of the device. that's weird.

I just wish they would announce this and the Droid Ultra line soon and share the specs with us.

More than likely that is probably a serial number for the device, so its been blurred (lol) out. Atleast thats what it looks like to me.

I guess its possible, but I was under the impression that the M with the broken circle around it in the top left corner was how Motorola was keeping track of these devices as the circle in all photos have been broken in different places.

I'm just interested as this is the first actual Motorola/Google phone. Obviously with this pic it doesn't seem to have any motoblur. I want to see the input and what all rubbed off from Google with their own designed phone.

I'm glad it don't. When I first got my atrix I was stuck with moto blur for 2 yrs.

Oh really? Would you mind posting your video review? Or, if you're camera shy, give PhoneArena the information of the place you got your Moto X unit from so they can get one and do a review.

I really don't get where they are going with the whole "functionality over specs" thing. When I upgrade my smartphone I want to get a noticeable improvement. I currently have a Razr maxx hd. Why would i change to a phone with the same resolution, dual core processor, and still a mediocore camera. If their goal is to capture ios users thats one thing, but as an android user this phone has nothing appealing about it.

Well, compared to the Razr (Maxx) HD; this will be getting faster updates, has a much better GPU, and the camera will probably be a big improvement if Google's comment about focusing on cameras this year is correct. Also, this will be available on all major carriers in the U.S, which no Motorola device is currently. So, this has potential for a lot of sales, it being the first unified Motorola release in quite some time.

Verizon and AT&T have really been the only major carriers getting good Motorola devices, I guess Sprint has with the Photon devices, but T-Mobile hasn't gotten anything since the Cliq 2.

But, keep in mind, this is NOT Motorola's flagship. That title is meant for the Droid Ultra.
